Virgil Ortiz will be the face of boxing
He looks like he’s got the goods and he’s only 22
    Robert Garcia in his corner

Vergil fought a 31 year old at 22. Spence and Vargas were the same age at 25 when they fought. A fighter is dangerous at a young age as opposed to passing their prime in which Vargas is at that tipping point.

His dad even told him to not get reckless. My concern is that if he gets reckless with his offense and he gets matched with an opponent that has power and good offense, how he's going to react when those punches land to the body. I could see Ortiz was wanting to make a statement in stopping Vargas before Spence but sometimes the KO isn't always going to happen. Credit to Vargas for being a warrior, willing to go down on his shield.
Well put. He did look anxious for the KO. I woulda liked to see more body work, even if that just helps him get ready for bigger challenges. Vargas was tough for sure. I’d like to see him work on a few more things in there. Still hard to discredit a guy who got his opponent out of there. But he has potential so he should expect to held to a high standard.

Vargas was also 27 y/o & 20-1-1 when Spence fought him, compared to 32 y/o & 31-5-2 (and stopped twice) when Ortiz Jr faced him.

Not really comparable, but Spence still beat him earlier & in better fashion

Was a decent performance against a durable guy I think Vergil needs to change up gloves that's 2 times he's hurt his hands in fights using the MX Everlast. People are quick to discredit Vargas because he had already lost to Garcia and Spence but that doesn't mean Vargas couldn't improve and learn from those losses something he has done and shown in the Khan and Collazo fights he was rolling a lot of Vergils punches as well but that jab was on point and that is what made the difference in the end.

By that logic so is Spence & Canelo or any other fighter in their early 30’s, LOL. Anyhow, we just witness a 22 yrs old kid beat the living cr@p out of a very game veteran fighter, can’t ask anything more from the kid.

But we can though since they're saying he's ready for a title and is the future of boxing. That's one of the things I like about Ortiz is that he is honest with himself and understands his place. Like Ortiz, we need to be honest with ourselves he won't do good at this time with other welters like Ugas, Porter, Crawford or Garcia. There's more work to do before we can have him up against the top 147 division.

There’s a big difference there if you’ve ever boxed you can see Vargas went it trying to win against Spence to where with Vergil he didn’t want to get stopped he went in here surviving and anticipated every shot and when a fighter does that it’s very difficult to stop him Vergil did.

Vergil will be p4p #1 in a couple years.

                      Wrong

Ortiz whoops Garcia porter and Ugas already I would bet on that that’s how good he is but he’s also no Broner he doesn’t wanna brag but he knows he beats those guys now.
