Popularity is the $$$ though. Maybe I misspoke and used a term improperly for what you consider it to be, but the point was I am not sold on the idea Mayweather is very well supported by America so much as the whole world. He's a global super star, not so much an American Icon.

To the Pac comment, I think my first paragraph covers it...."Popular Pac" may very well be very popular, but, he's not as popular as Money...you can tell...you know...by the lower number of views and buys and stacks of cash.

My point was I'm not sure it's America paying his bills. Could be America, but, it seems like a significant chunk of that money comes from the foreigners.

Also, maybe I'm misreading you and I've your tone all wrong, but, it does seem like you're looking for me to be in some way disrespecting Money. I back Floyd as p4p atg goat...tbe. I'm just saying I don't actually meet fellow May fans and you'd think if we were carrying him I'd meet a few pretty regularly.
Hate to admit the word ''popular'' triggers me, even when it favors ''my guy''
I see that word and it's all gggrrr

The fault is most likely on my end.

It's passed time for you to start living in reality. Floyd EASILY beat your hero and your undying man love will never change that.

I respectfully disagree. I believe that Money May was the one who helped singlehandedly carried the sport of boxing in the U.S. After the 1990s. Were many of his fights mismatches; For sure? Was he a crowd pleasing fighter no?

However, just take a good close look at his Pay Per View sales and ticket receipts in Las Vegas, Nevada U.S.A. In order to prove this man's impact on the sport of boxing stateside.

Right. People had to tune in just in case he lost! “Tune in to see me win, tune in to see me lose, tune in to see my trunks.” I love that. Heck I judge every fighters trunks. He was the highest paid athlete without endorsements. That’s called bringing back prestige to boxing. A defensive fighter was always going to be the one to go undefeated. His name still sells ads space and clicks on this forum. He was the tide that rose all boats. Everyone’s gf knew who he was. U bet against him, u lost. For all the haters that say his resume is no good, I want to see all your betting slips and hear from ur friends on who u picked in his fights? Geez ud think all the haters would have made off like thieves betting on him to win? That’s perspective.

I agree with everything you just said but the casual fan didn't see things that way. They saw Floyd Mayweather as this charismatic and larger than life personality.

The man was a genius and master at marketing his brand to the mainstream crossover fan as he became more of a television personality/celebrity and less than a boxer with that fake Money Mayweather angle of his that worked.

It helped got him over with the casual fan who didn't watch boxing but loved him.

Can only avoid the needle but for so long.

Pac's plan B after losing wide was to invent a prefight injury.

How deluded does a person have to be to be a Pac fan ?
The bulk of his resume sucks
99% of his WW resume sucks
Has proven himself in favor of fighting guys with little to no power.

No matter what your types have to say about May, he beat your guy. Everything else is just a sob story.

Anyway, May has been retired so let's stop making threads about him in NSB. The history section is open for business.

If he decides to come back, the sport will belong to him again making Pac irrelevant again.
Ya fool, you got played by the fraud. When Pac finally said F it to floyd's blood tests demands the day of the fight, Floyd the coward changed his tune and said he won't do business with Arum. Floyd used the drug test blood demands as his way to block the fight. this is all documented on fraudweather's wiki page.

you got fooled by counterfeit fraud coward bully who likes to beat up japanese bantamweights and retired bums but is afraid to rematch Pac for over $100m.

Manny was ready to fight in 2012. Then Nevada extended Floyd's jail start date so they could fight on Cinco de Mayo 2012. This is when Bob had his son in law give Manny stitches and then proclaimed him unready despite Manny's regular doctor nor the doctor in the hospital felt Manny needed stitches after the JMM fight in Nov 2011.

This was a clear duck that Manny fans want to pretend didn't happen. Cowardly move from a man that had already avoided the fight over drug testing. When Manny finally got enough courage to fight Floyd, we saw exactly why he avoided him for all those years.

Floyd admitted that he marinated the fight and should be given credit for making it a big money fight. Floyd duck pac no matter how hard u all floyd fans try to spin it.
