I agree, but it seems that everyone is in on this "game" of minimizing risk and avoiding each other to one extent or the other. That is, unless everyone involved gets a career defining payday. Absent a league or other defining structure Boxing is a haven for scam artists and con men.

yeah that's what sucks. As fans, we didn't see mayweather vs pac when we wanted it. I personally wanted to see Canelo vs ggg happen at least 2 fights earlier than it did. I'm still waiting on Crawford vs spence. I still feel cheated that we never saw bowe vs Lewis. Guess you just reach a point as a fan where you lose your patience with the whole minimizing risk approach and the fans who support it. Good debate on your end either way. Respect.

Was the amount Smith wants to fight Canelo too high and unreasonable. I doubt that it was. Smith is the real 168 pound champ not Fielding who he koed in 1 round and not Ryder who he just beat by ud. Canelo should fight the real champ this time and pay him well What ever Smith gets Canelo will certainly be getting 5 to 10 times as much. I like this fight and give Smith a decent chance to win. He has never lost and took Fielding out faster than Canelo did. He is a tall fast lefty who can box and hits hard to both head and body.

I wouldn't pay to see Billy Joke or C Smith vs Canelo. I'm ONLY interested in Canelo Beterbiev. He can't just disappear from LHW after flattening Kovalev - he HAS to stay and fight King Artur. We as boxing fans should be demanding Canelo vs Beterbiev.

Finally someone gets it. Finally someone gets why an app only approach doesn’t work for American sports fans sans any other sports American sports fans want to see. Americans just won’t be sold on football (soccer for North American’s), darts, snooker, curling, and talk shows about American sports. Agreed, honestly if I was Canelo I would use the current situation we are in to get out of the DAZN contract. I would demand full payment for my next fight and if DAZN can't comply that would be grounds to break the contract, I'm sure his lawyer can figure something out. Canelo and his team can go negotiate with a major network, I think that's I Canelo's best interest. I truly believe DAZN is not going to survive this, they we're already having money problems before this started, even if they get through, I think in the long run it's not going to work out, their bad management has put them in a bind, I even think DAZN wouldn't fight much in getting out of that contract, they just don't have the platform to justify that contract or even some if their other fighters contracts. If this continues, the best platform for a boxing star is going to be PPV, just like UFC, because you could make it work just with PPV, when no live gates are available. That equals signing with a network and fighting on PPV to maximize revenue. Unless DAZN wants to get in the PPV business, because I see them crashing and burning if they don't come out with a better strategy.

I dont understand why this dude thinks he has leverage. There's not too many people checking for the next Callum Smith fight. On the other hand, Canelo is to where he can fight a literal bum and people will buy it. I'd fight him for free if I thought I could win and take advantage of the leverage from then on.
