Where else does he get 5 million to fight. That is very generous for a covid no gate fight.

He doesnt want it if he turned down 5 million, he isnt confident he can beat Canelo and is worried his career is over against the elite with an L against Canelo.

To clarify, that’s what Derevyanchenko turned down last year. The offer to Smith wasn’t released but if 5.5 was too low to Derev, i can imagine what smith feels his worth is.

While Canelo is Boxing Star and I like Canelo but he is not anything close to the Boxing Crossover Superstars that Mayweather and Pacquiao were in the previous ERA. So he does need quality Dance partners to do numbers, compared to Mayweather and Pacquiao who could fight anybody and people would show up and tune in. Canelo haven't had an opponent with any type of personality to help sell his events and or to be that Villain. He needs to go ahead and run through the Gauntlet of: Demetrius Andrade, Jermall Charlo, Billy Joe Saunders, Callum Smith, Caleb Plant and David Benavidez...that Cements his Legacy!

I think he can beat them all personally but I still need to actually see it happen because as we know anything can happen in that ring and styles make fights! So instead of assuming he would win lets actually SEE IT! Since Charlo is hated by many, he would be a perfect Dance Partner and he will be more than happy to take on that Villain Role. Same with Andrade and BJS! Would be nice to have some guys with some personality leading up to the fight who will talk trash to Canelo and get Casuals interested

UFC recently doing 1.3 Million is verification that PERSONALITY is what Sell, not just want you do in a Ring or Octagon. Boxing right now doesn't have many if any PERSONALITIES other than Fury!
