Hatton is right , the fight was broken straight away as soon as Hatton got close ...no doubt ...fact . But which ever way the result would have been the same ...just maybe a little later.

Try reading the article first. He was complaining that the ref wouldn't allow him to fight inside.

Which was obviously a lie. Cortez didn’t stop him from fighting inside, floyd stopped him from fighting inside by out wrestling him. Most of the times when Cortez broke them apart it consisted of him removing Floyd’s elbow/forearm from Hatton’s face. Floyd didn’t need Cortez to regulate Hatton’s wrestling style. Cortez made the fight more enjoyable to watch for us as fans.

Ricky has every right to feel cheated. Anyone can see the referee favour Floyd in that fight. Anyone who knows Ricky Hatton's style at the time, knows he was at a disadvantage with the constant unneccesary breaking. The ref nullified any attempts at inside fighting from Ricky, set it up to be fought at the ideal range for Floyd. Only a complete idiot would try to disprove that, and I am aware we have many of those here. But it is what it is. Floyd also got away with all kinds of elbow smashes.

No Ricky, you just got your asswhooped by a much better, more complete, scientific and fundamentally sound fighter. Quit making excuses because there were no cheating or subterfuge involved.

Money May did something that you were never accustomed to by forcing you to fight within the confines of the rules and you just couldn't handle it or make any adjustments to it. Since you couldn't cheat you were lost like a deer in headlights.
