What's he supposed to say? Everyone is supposed to think their era was The Era.
And fantasy cross era fights are fooking a dumb ass debate anyway cuz of all the intangibles & insanity involved in time traveling boxers or fighting in some sorta time vacuum prime vs prime not to mention the rule changes & preferences in eras towards certain styles & other attributes.Comment

Holmes wasn't really in the era he talks about but most of the 70s guys would literally kill the current crop probably except for skillful Fury.Comment

The only advantage today's fighters would have that could make it tough for past generations is size. Otherwise, the skill and toughness of the fighters from the past eras greatly surpass what we see today. Fury is the most skilled of today's hw's and he's a goof in comparison to past heavyweights who boxed and moved like middle weights.Comment

Maybe in the heavyweight division in boxing that holds true, but guys in lighter weight divisions are as good as past fighters. The biggest difference is top fighters don't face each other at the rate they did in the past.Comment

To be fair Larry could take the high road and say what Tyson did about the Klitschkos, "different era, who knows? “. Not, everyone in my day was better than everyone in theirs. It's disrespectful in itself. And he was the king of complaining about being disrespected for following the champions he did.Last edited by Mindgames; 07-16-2020, 08:50 AM.Comment
