    Floyd over Canelo easily IMO.

Margarito was a world class fighter but Canelo has proven to be a truly elite fighter.

That Canelo by every conceivable metric was better than that version of Margarito. He was P4P#9, had 2 belts(Won 1 legit off of Trout). Margo was out of the ring for 2 years, then gifted a secondary belt against some guy, then slaughtered by Pac at a weight he wasn't known to compete at.

margarito was a nobody by the time manny picked him

Recently tuned up from a long layoff prior fight getting one the worst azz whoopings in recent times

Williams Cotto and Mosley took on margarito when he was still a threat

You judge fights based on perception on fight night, not what happens after the fact.

            No exceptions.

              PAC over Margarito easily.

Canelo was a wittle boy when grown 35 year old Floyd fought him.

Not to mention, Floyd ducked Marg.

Id have been massively shocked had Mayweather lost to a young Canelo, the schooling of him panned out to pretty much what I expected...

I wouldn't have been shocked if either was the winner of the Pacman v Marg fight...

No you don’t... hindsight is extremely important when reviewing boxing, sport, history etc.

For example... We didn’t know just how great Canelo was against Floyd, now we do. That makes what Mayweather did a hell of a lot more impressive.

Even from your criteria, if you’re that desperate to make a discussion out of this... Margarito was coming off a beating from Mosley 12 months earlier as well as all the controversy surrounding the plaster gloves, whilst Canelo was 40-0 and coming off a good win against Austin Trout in a 154 lb unification, he was also ranked top 10 P4P at the time by the Ring.

This is an easy one. I will take Floyd's win over Canelo. Floyd's performance in that fight is what my British friends like to describe as a masterclass. He jumped up four weight divisions in order to defeat a much younger, larger, stronger and undefeated champion.
