The things some chiropractors believe will make you seriously reconsider it as a legitimate form of medicine. Beliefs that everything can be cured by spinal manipulation.. or some are into wacked out pointless **** like magnets and crystals. Buyer beware. Most don't seem to subscribe to that old quacky style of chiropracty anymore though and I've gone to one myself but pretty sure he ****ed up my neck pretty badly. Kinda funny they are so accepted now but then so is acupuncture and homeopathic medicine.

Great video. Ive seen great chiro’s for over 20 years. They helped me at my worst but I learned a better way.
Having a Chiro is kinda like hiring someone to take your SAT’s for you. This new way (not new, just unknown) teaches YOU how to fix your own problems.Comment

I bet you’ve been to $h1tty doctors and never new it cause we’re taught to never question a medical doctor. Believe me. There’s the same amount of quak chiropractors as there are quak medical doctors. I’m in the medical field. A quak M.D. will KILL you and your family will never question it. I hated my GP. He was some old British quack with adult braces who always tried to put me on anti depressants since like 14. I question basically everything but you are correct that many don't and believe anything an MD says sight unseen without any critical thinking. There's a line though between critical thinking and self diagnosing on WEBMD thinking you can treat yourself. Not implying you do that but I think you catch my drift. Magnets and Crystals. Those people are wack jobs NOT Board Certified Practitioners. The things some chiropractors believe will make you seriously reconsider it as a legitimate form of medicine. If they are licenced report them to the State Board!
Contact the BBB.
Labeling an entire profession based on a couple of kooks is inaccurate. That's about as smart as saying Black police officers are racist because they are police officers.
To me putting people on Vicodin for years because of a misaligned vertebrae creating nerve pressure is insane. Or then cauterizing a nerve via surgery is ridiculous and destroys lives. I see these people everyday.
I create a strategy and program for these people and they improve. Then we leave it alone. Then they give me referrals.
A busy referral practice exists for a reason
The lowest liability insurance for all health care professions exists for a reason.Comment

Going to the chiropractor has been great for me. Since I work an office desk job where during OT seasons I'm damn near sitting down for 11 or 12 hours a day, I've developed some back and neck issues. But what was really bothering me was when I was running, I noticed having to put more pressure on one leg and it just didn't feel right. When I went to the chiropractor and they took X-rays of my back and did all their testing, my clavicle was misaligned quite a bit, one leg was 3/4 inches longer than the other and I had spinal misalignment. My chiropractor told me ahead of time it was going to take about four or so sessions plus a lot of exercises/stretches at home to correct this. I loved how up front she was and she didn't try to scam me by telling me I had to come three times for a week for two months. That is definitely one thing to take note when going to a chiropractor to see if they have a legitimate plan to help your issues or if they just want you to keep coming for months and months.
I ended up going to about six sessions but I've felt so much better since then. Recently, I came across some chiropractor on YouTube who has some quick exercises that have been very helpful.
This one was very clutch for me yesterday:
chirorickyp can you please watch this video and give your thoughts? Like I do a lot of the stuff he puts out and it seems safe and efficient. But I want to make sure he is the real deal and doing these exercises at home won't cause me any issues.Comment

This is outstanding. Mobility obviously is important but you have to strengthen key muscles like your glut medius. Eventually you should advance to single leg bridges.Going to the chiropractor has been great for me. Do these exercises and add the pigeon stretch (watch on youtube) to stretch the piriformis and glut medius.
The other key stretch is to stretch the Psoas muscle. So many people have hip *********** from fixated SI joints and tight psoas muscles. No worries about that Chiropractor, he's giving good instruction.Last edited by chirorickyp; 07-10-2020, 10:51 PM.Comment
