Why did GGG give up so much ground against Canelo in the rematch?

    Derevyanchenko did better than Canelo.
And SG clearly won that fight, imho.

Lol that jab isn’t much when that is the majority of punches you throw. It’s something to throw to set up combos and power punches. GGG was using almost exclusively as his sole “scoring” punch, which cost him the fight. Idk why some people think landing jabs would be better than landing power, telling blows that catch the fans and judges attention. Nobody, not even us pure boxing fans, want to see a jabbing contest.

I loved Wladimir Klitschko. His style of using the jab is the way you utilize it. Throw it yes, it’s important, but land more power punches than jabs. And land more power punches than your opponent in more rounds. That’s it.

and no, Tapia did not win

Tapia was tough, but basic... like you, except without the tough part
        Trout struggled with Tapia.
GGG finished this tough guy in 3 rounds.
        In a very one-sided fight.

So Trout won against Canelo in your opinion?

            Canelo edged Trout.

Please carefully read these two sentences. English is not my first language but I am 100% positive that my message was typed clearly. And if English your first (and only?) language then you should be able to comprehend my post:

“Throw it yes, it’s important, but land more power punches than jabs. And land more power punches than your opponent in more rounds. That’s it.”

What happened in Canelo vs Trout? Both fighters outlanded eachother, in the power punch category, in 6 rounds apiece. The difference in the fight, imo, was Canelo scoring a knock down.

It was a close fight that I felt the right man won even though I didn’t agree with the judges scorecards. It was closer than they had it.

its all the golovkin fans have to cling to from that fight....like i said....i think canelo would prefer golovkin to throw jabs all night rather than power punches dont you?

GGG should have had the chin and work rate to do it.

But instead, GGG kept moving back the whole fight and giving up ground. Why?
I think Canelo at the point in time they finally fought, was just better on all counts. I think GGG would have, prime for prime, beaten Canelo, but that’s not always how boxing works. Canelo is elite level, possibly ATG level now. GGG is a great middleweight but doesn’t have the resume to warrant ATG comparisons. To me, he is a great middleweight and future HOF. I rank him around the likes of a Sergio Martinez. No telling how high he could have gone though had he gotten the big fights in his prime.

So, theoretically you would give a fight to the fighter who lands 3 pp's, against 100000 jabs and 2pp's?

I guess you tore down your Tapia poster to make room for your new Golovkin poster
