he had some power, but even when he had an opponent in trouble, he wouldn't press. Too afraid of getting hit. Late in his career, save for the MacGregor fight, he had like 7 decision victories, but two of those were mixed. His best fight was probably the Hatton KO, but aside from that, what did this dude really do?
He wasn't like Pernell Whittaker or Willie Pep: magnificent defensive fighters without a lot of power. Floyd could knock you out--he just chose not to. He would run around for 12 rounds, throw some flurries, and call it a day. His fights were snooze fests
compare him to someone like Hearns. The Hitman could out-box just about anyone in the world, but he always went into the ring with one mission, and that was to obliterate his opponent. Dude was like the Death Star--the goal was total destruction (or be destroyed)
So Floyd vs. Paq in terms of all-time creds? Get outta here. Paq is a legend who fought everyone and always put on a great show. Floyd will be forgotten in 5 years.
