The whole concept of "Franchise Champion" seems like pure BS to me.
Say what you like about Whyte, but deep down I think we all know he is clearly being unfairly treated. The pandemic should be accounted for, of course, but the WBC haven't given Whyte any assurance that they're going to treat him fairly in future.
It sure feels a lot like WBC's intentions are to screw Whyte over rather than let him have his title shot. They'll gift him a belt which essentially means nothing in the most unsatisfying way possible. They should let him do what every fighter dreams of doing - earning the right to become champion by defeating the current champion in the ring.
Personally I don't see Whyte beating Wilder, Fury or Joshua but AT LEAST GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE. The WBC should be making it clear that their champion (Wilder or Fury following the rematch) will either fight unifications or Whyte with NO exceptionsComment

Does anybody remember when HBO didn't recognize the wbo as a real title.I think it's time for the fans to stop giving these corrupt organizations any credibility. If Fury and Joshua don't lose and fight each other the winner is THE heavyweight champ.Comment

Fury is the lineal and true heavyweight champion of the world. Everything else is just background noiseComment

Most people on here clearly don't follow Boxing. Bum whyte hasn't been overlooked or robbed of anything. He turned down multiple opportunities: Mandatory & Voluntary shots at all Heavyweight titles. Thats his own fault and his terrible promoters fault. Nobody to blame but himself for terrible career decisions.
Bum whyte wanted an easy path at HW titles and cherrypicked everything else. Then he failed PED testing and refused to give a B sample which would've immediately cleared his name. That was his fault.
The world is on hold and that includes Boxing. Unifications Trump mandatories. Written contracts of rematch clauses also >> a pushed back mandatory date due to a world pandemic. Bum whyte will have to wait.
He's just mad that he can't cherry-pick opponents for long and he knows he'll be beat before he gets his chance as mandatory. True boxing fans won't have a problem with it because that means he wasn't good enough and the other guy was...Bum whyte will finally have to fight a top 10 guy next. He can't reasonably duck Ortiz forever they've aged him enough. Parker is a life and death fight. Pulev is taken. Usyk is taken. Can't do another Chisora. Andy Ruiz already has plans. That leaves Luis Ortiz who he's been ducking.Comment

"We will be talking to the organisations to eliminate mandatories, or to postpone them all for at least one year. I am sick and tired of being forced, with my marquee fighters, to fight meaningless fights against mandatories that mean nothing"
So, according to Arum, 3 months without boxing means mandatories should be postponed for at least one year... Or just got rid of entirely.
He is sick of his marquee fighters having to give the number one contender an opportunity to fight for the belt. A belt holder defending his belt against a mandatory apparently means nothing. As compared with a belt holder not having to defend his title against a mandatory because the promoter is tired of it. That, apparently, would be more meaningful.
Next: the possibility of a loss to be eliminated for Arum's marquee fighters, as he is sick of taking the risk of his big money fighters losing in the ring.Comment

Depends if Wilder wants the rematch by the end of the year if Whyte his shot. Fury can then drop the belt and go for joshua in 2021 but i think either way Fury needs a fight by the end of the yearComment
