Damn he is paid that much? I thought he was on 2.5 maximum. Wow no wonder he is with top rank. He has never fought a live opponent and he is earning all that money. I’m not really up to speed with their finances. 2 years ago he was earning around 1.5 similar to lomachenko or maybe I wrong there too

The nature of business is retain your customers and sustain the brand. The ESPN brand needs no introduction in the world of sports. It’s actually good that ESPN has Bud Crawford. He’s an elite level boxer and in his prime. It makes sense for ESPN to keep him for their prestige so they at least show a boxing portfolio showcasing Crawford. So the premium goes to Crawford. You can’t evaluate what Bud gets when comparing PBC. Different standards of business, and “PBC” is no ESPN.

It’s not Crawford’s fault. ESPN’s own problem or mode of business is their responsibility.

Now during this pandemic, I feel fighters need to be realistic. But to just assume fighters should hop around to other platforms and competitors assuming everything is fine over there is a very premature and unrealistic thought

A lot of these fighters gonna end up on the shelf, Crawford is overpaid so he leaves and goes to PBC where he gets the fights. This is good news for Spence who can get a warm up fight before crawford has a fight and then take the fight next year whilst Crawford will have ring rust
