Wait a minute. The topic is about race. Spence brought it up. He said that Americans should back Deontay Wilder because he is an American because the British support their fighters because they are British.

He brought up the fact that he doesn't like Americans supporting fighters from other countries over Americans, which has exactly ZERO to do with race. Nice spin attempt tho.

I was only expressing and explaining why that is in America and why we Americans don't support our own like other countries do and the answer is so obvious. Everything is centered around race and ethnicity here in the U.S.

GGG and Wilder are both BUMS. They both made a career of knocking out part-time fighters and avoided legacy fights. GGG is a bit better though as he did compete better with top opponents than Wilder did.

GGG arguably beat Jacobs, did draw with Canelo and maybe even won 7-5 1st fight, close loss in the rematch, and gave a good account of himself in loss against Dervenchenko.

Wilder was losing to Ortiz twice before KOs and lost to Fury twice. Wildee couldnt even TKO Charlie Zelenoff....in 5 years time people will forget Wilder existed...GGG ail take 10-12 years bc he tied BHops record

I'm going to stop you right there. #1: There is freedom of opinion in most countries in the western world and you don't have to support somebody because they may be considered a national hero. #2: Since when was Wilder considered a national hero?? Joe Louis was a national hero. Sugar Ray Robinson was a national hero. Jackie Robinson was a national hero. Michael Jordan was a national hero. Wilder is just an obnoxious, ignorant, disrespectful, underskilled pro boxer with a powerful right hand. What has he done to be considered a national hero? This is just pure foolishness.

I’m no diehard Wilder fan. I don’t follow him, nor do I find his emotional sense of purpose or drive (as champ) some special endearing thing to look into, I’m not too sure what even makes him tick. But he’s also not a controversial figure like a Mike Tyson or a Floyd Mayweather, or even an M&M..lol

He’s pretty much an ordinary American dude that was motivated to box to raise money for his sick daughter. Is that a laudable trait? I think it is. ...He’s applied “hard work & dedication” for 39 wins in a row, regardless of who YOU believe he’s fought! Is that a praiseworthy trait on his part? I and many others think it is!

Has he developed a passion and drive to fight any and EVERYONE in his division - without EXCUSE? I believe he has.

Is he a fan friendly champ that likes to mingle with the fans? Yes he does. Is that a wonderful trait a champ should have? Yes it is!

Has he brought highlight real KO’s and performances to look back on? I believe so!

Is he a BRAVE champ that has relied on his skinny God given physical attributes to defend his title! Yes!

Has he PUBLICLY REFUSED PEDs and the use of DRUGS?! I KNOW that he has....Surprisingly, I could go on about the guy!

I’ve simply outlined some guidelines to focus on.....You guy, can choose to see all the “national hero foolishness” you choose to see. Like many boxing fans you’ll have your bias, hate and desire to see him fail. Nothing new here.

But Spence is right. Rooting for the hometown guy should be encouraged. What’s wrong with being motivated to root for your “countryman?”

In the U.S. There's no question that Fury's popularity is largely due to the fact that he is white and it is Bob Arum, Top Rank and ESPN who are the ones pushing this racial angle and agenda because it help sells tickets because there is nothing like a white heavyweight champion.
