I wouldn't be surprised if Plant tires out at some point from all the pressure. Won't argue it isn't possible. NO I don't see him having the power in his punches to keep David away either, I wouldn't ever suggest Plant out brawl David. That's why I mentioned Caleb's better footwork and Ring IQ. It's a toss up I think could end in a SD for Plant.

Until he actually signs a contract i don't believe Plant

This dude is going around and talking about who he's willing to fight but yet he needs a 'rest' after winning a glorified sparring session in his last fight??!! FOH!

He won a title then took a stay busy fight as almost all fighters do coming fresh off winning their first title. Surely you must know this. Surely this has never happened in all the world wide history of boxing! Nope never ever ever!

Yep, it looked like it was Team Benavidez that is doing the ducking here. I doubt David knew that until Sampson started talking about not wanting the fight now.

I agree that is possible that Plant can win by way of SD. However it is highly unlikely, unless he doesn't gas out and can evade Benavidez punches for twelve rounds without absorbing much punishment while sticking and moving off the back foot in the process. Only time will reveal.

This matchup is very reminiscent of the Antonio Margarito vs Miguel Cotto I bout; Where Miguel was able to evade Antonio's power in the early rounds while constantly beating him to the punch with his stick and move style just before succumbing to Margarito's pressure and power later in the fight and subsequently stopped by him.

People just love to hate man. Especially when a fighter they cherish is involved + their knowledge on the sport is extremely limited.

Margarito potentially had cement gloves that night. The asterisk next to that W makes that a poor choice in comparison. And what about Manny v Floyd? Manny is a pressure fighter + solid puncher + volume puncher yet Floyd managed to avoid it all and make it look easy. I'm not suggesting Caleb is as good as Floyd but neither is David as good as Manny. Or another somewhat similar matchup- SRL v Hagler. I don't think Caleb getting an SD is unlikely at all. I think either fighter getting a UD is unlikely. I think Caleb stopping David is unlikely. I think David getting a decision is unlikely. Sticking n moving off the Backfoot ain't the only way to win.

Opportunity to begin unifying the division and it seems like no one has any fughin interest
Although both guys are with PBC which would make the fight easier to make but nope , not now
I can see both these guys losing their belts , not improbable either
This is why boxing don’t get good ratings , these guys only fight second tier fighters while calling out everyone but their old lady

You make a good point. However, it is totally different when a bigger man is pressuring you on inside than a smaller man like Manny Pacquiao pressuring a Floyd Mayweather, Jr. A naturally larger man usually wears the naturally smaller man down on the inside a lot faster because of the size differentiation.

Look at the end of the day. This is all speculation. It's just my opinion. I am a fan of both fighters. Perhaps, Plant does defeat Benavidez by way of split decision. I can't rule that scenario out because it can happen. All the intangibles favor him. However, we won't know yet until they fight and until then, may the best man win.
