It's a dumb fight to be honest. GGG is struggling to make 160 ibs as his body is deteriorating and he is getting pudgy, and pacquiao struggles to make a higher weight, let alone 160. Pac is a natural 140 pounder to be honest.

If he wanted to be 9 division champ should have did it 5 years ago.
But fighting crawford, spence he will doing what he isn't supposed to be doing anyway.
Beating thurman was greatest win by anyone for a long time

This is the only place I could find the source of Roach saying it.

            Found the source:

I’m leaning towards roach not realizing what he said, because he doesn’t talk any catchweights or other weights. When Mannix brings up 160, he just say’s 147 was a risk, Pacquiao can make 140, 135. I’m willing to bet he meant Crawford.

Roach is just being sarcastic when he heard this talk of Pac fighting Crawford, which he never liked the idea of. "Might as well fight Golovkin also."

So he's not supposed to fight people in his own weightclass?

Well if Pac followed Floyd s route not fight people this good. Floyd tried not to if he could help it. If Pac chooses to follow Floyd s example Don't crucify him!
Don't hold Pac to different and higher standards instinctively if you can at all help it.
I know it's hard with Pac being this good
