Oscar struggled with Steve Forbes right before facing manny. Forbes isn’t on Oscar level

Oscar didn’t just meet manny at a catchweight. Oscar drained and ruined himself

And it’s all on Oscar. He tried cherry-picking manny and ended up getting whoooped

In fact De La Hoya-Mayweather was so close that they signed to have a rematch. The only reason it didn’t happen was because Mayweather retired unexpectedly.

So it’s very nice that we can say 12 years after the fact that De La Hoya was shot, but he almost beat Floyd Mayweather months before Pacquiao destroyed him.

One could say the stars aligned then manny destroyed Cotto

Condition of the opponent at the time of the fight matters too. Oscar was shot
You dont understand how much resistance snap and stamina the CW took from him, and that Margo beating was too close to go into this fight, its doesnt matter if youre a little out of tune but when a wheel falls off you hit the wall, the CW was Cottos wall.

Manny knows it thats why he will not fight Cotto without the CW, he believes e cant beat him without it.

You cant be serious man, he had not made WW in over 10yrs Oscar was 145 and gained 2lbs from weighin and Manny out weighed Oscar on fight night. the last time Oscar was 147 on fight night was when he was at 135lbs in 1996.

Just as a reference Oscar was 17lbs heavier vs Mayweather think about that.

Manny beat up a dead man that night.

Yeah it baffles me how they could make such a massive weight mistake for being such a highly rated fighter, I watched him struggle with LW Steve Forbes and seen he didnt make 150 said Roach, I knew he cant make 147 without it hurting him, it didnt just hurt him it totally ruined what ever chance he had.

            C’mon man

He could easily beat Cotto without a catchweight. He absolutely battered him for 11+ rounds.

That’s like saying had Mayweather-Canelo been at 154 instead 152, Mayweather wouldn’t have won. It’s just ridiculous.

Then why did he need it twice, its so obvious he thinks he cant, it was so important to him he was walking away from the first fight if he did not get a CW and he walked away from the second .

              He needs it .

Most of his 147lb. wins have big asterisks. Catchweights, bringing up 140lbers, opponents coming off bad showing, etc...

His best win without asterisks imo is Bradley. Bradley isn't that great of a fighter or win though and I rank the hurt Thurman coming off a terrible performance as a better overall win. I think the Cotto beatdown was his best win above 140lbs. though. I expected Cotto to beat him. Maybe if there was USADA or VADA he would have but you never know.

I see Floyd in no rush to fight.nel o at 154.
Again Pac has did enough at 147 to convince people he beats any version of cott o at 147. Can't s ay same for floyd.
Pac s win over cott o at 147 is more credible than Floyd's over nel o at 154

What about conditions with the size difference? It doesn’t matter now? Oscar being shot didn’t matter until the fight happened.
