The past prime fighters Pac beat like mmorales still better than most of Floyd s resume.
Of course Floyd fought prime fughters the law averages suggests he must have done. But they weren't any good that's all.
I remember when a poll was made here who was a tougher opponent Bradley for pac or cotto for floyd, Bradley won poll convincingly. Floyd may have made many of his opponents look good like connor, dlh, maidana, hatton but doesn't mean they were. Pac was robbed against bradley, that is bad, but it made pac overly aggressive against jm m in next fight and rest is history

Cotto never really shook off tag of pac s used goods, never be the same again. Of course cott o looked like he may have recovered from beating but whether he was ever the same is debatable. Beating yuri, Majorga isn't much of indicator. Nobody is going to buy idea when they fight floyd they're the best version ever, that's just Floyd fans biased take on things. Cotto blew hot and cold as it was you weren't sure what you will get from one day to next. He might have had off night with floyd, just floyd made him look better than he was. Floyd often did that

Man, this thread really hurt the Pac fans...They always make this claim but they can't even get to 5 names. Lol

The short answer: less than Floyd.
Margarito was not prime against Manny.

        Cotto is debatable.

Outside of Bradley, Vargas, Clottey, and Algieri it can be argued every other fighter was damaged goods in a disadvantaged fight...catchweight, rehydration clause, etc

Floyd would be his own thread, but his resume is similar in terms of fighting guys just before or after their prime.

I had a lot of issues with my manager at the time, Vincent Scolpino. He took advantage of me. Our agreement said that he would help financially until I reached $70,000 a fight. He was taking 33 percent of my money. But once I started making over $70,000, he just disappeared. He wasn’t doing anything a manager should do. He wasn’t providing any financial help. Not even encouragement. Meanwhile, my promoter is the one getting me fights. Vinny wouldn’t even come see me in camp. He would show up fight week, collect his money after the fight and that was it.

I don’t think people understand how much that can weaken a fighter’s spirit. I didn’t see Vinny until the week of the Pacquiao fight. So, after the weigh-in, I went to his hotel room. I told him how unhappy I was. I said, drop the 33 percent down to 27 percent. He refused. When I fought Pacquiao, I decided I was just going to defend myself. I wasn’t going to put my life on the line for people who did nothing, but take from me. It was all about business for Vinny. And I’m going in there taking punches so that he can take a big portion even though you don’t speak to me.

Tbh i felt it was weird... He connected every time he threw but in hindsight Clottey gave the fight away to Cotto( still felt he won) by not letting his handsgo.a

JMM and Bradley are better ATG (don't know if either is) than Thurman could ever be anyways.

Jesse Vargas is not an elite fighter but he was definitely prime for Manny fight.

Clottey was 36-2 (if given rightful win over Cotto) and his other 2 losses were a DQ and a decision to Plasters where Clottey broke his hand in the 4th round...it was basically an undefeated Clottey tbh
If you consider a 2009 Mosley prime then Barrera is so is Thurman.

Cotto was close to prime too although that Margarito loss was devastating

Clottey was also prime. He’s low profile but a solid fighter

            Never mind Vargas

I definitely dont think Mosley was prime in 2009 even with his win over Margarito. Margarito never went on to do anything after that fight and, keep in mind, plaster wraps were found prior to that fight.

It would be hard for anyone to claim Mosley was prime any time after his 2006 wins over Vargas IMHO. Just my IMHO

I thought Cotto lost to Clottey after Margarito and with the new trainer and the catchweight...kinda takes away some of the win, but Manny wouldve won at any time IMO..
