I would be interested to see what percentage that was, because it was supposed to be a fight at Wembley, but still I agree he should've just taken the shot and gone for the title.

He's actually since been forced to take more risks for less money against up and coming, hungry fighters like Rivas. But I always believed that Hearn doesn't want them two to fight again just yet. That's why he's pushed Whyte to be ranked with the WBC, so he could try and get that title then they would fight in-house for all the marbles. That way Hearn ends up with an undisputed heavyweight star, no matter what.
For me, 4m is a pretty decent payday regardless of percentage especially for a challenger. I couldn't imagine he's made too many if any 4m fights..

I know he can sit and say I deserve a better percentage based on monies generated but at the end of the day, it's the title shot that a boxer wants. If he's as confident in his ability to fight as he is at talking he could have took his chance and if he'd have won then writes his own ticket after that...

As a challenger, you have to look at what the bigger picture could be, unless you aren't that confident of actually beating the guy in front of you..

I agree with you regarding possible Hearn plan. That's classic Hearn trying to look at the bigger picture for himself...

Hearn is playing Whyte and clearly all he cares about is AJ. Arum is in a similar boat with Fury and the financial future of Top Rank is all riding on Fury's next couple of fights after losing money on the last three.

When you consider that Hearn offered a fighter from his own stable half of what he offered Miller (yes, I know) or ended up paying Ruiz it doesn't look good for him at all. If I was one of his fighters I would be very concerned that he was only prepared to offer half of what he would pay for a lesser known fighter that was signed to a rival promoter.

Aside from that to offer Whyte something like a 5% split of a fight at Wembley Stadium is just a joke especially when you consider he was looking at a 40% split as the mandatory for the WBC. For those of you that say the percentage doesn't matter, of course it does. No fighter wants to receive a fraction of what they are worth and why should they?

Nope this scnerio is perfect as it forces Wilder to fight Whyte who both appears to be ducking eachother; which allows Wilder to get back into the mix respectably for AJ/Fury winner; not sure if anyone is buying wilder now, aside from some bruta God send kos, he has been getting consistently dominated round by round for 2-3 years straight on the low if we arent too distracted by his fights outcomes.....

The sport of boxing has lost it's way. It's heading back to the days when ranked fighters could never get a shot at a title because of politics.

Arum is making the same excuse promoters made 100 years ago that prevented many deserving fighters from getting a title shot. And orgs like WBC and the BS franchise title is complicit.

Oh come on Whyte has never turned down a Wilder fight and I've never seen that suggested even on here. In fact Wilder explicitly said he would make Whyte wait as long as possible in an interview which I think is still on youtube.

Why is Whyte forced to fight Wilder given he's mandatory now ??

Do you guys who are complaining about this actually want a Dillian Whyte fight to disrupt the Fury-Joshua-Wilder unification? Why? Do you regard Whyte as the equal to those three?

I don’t have an opinion on DW, just prefer that the three champs finish unification before any mandatories come into play. Whyte should have plenty of opponents to build his resume and fanbase with in the meantime.

Why does this topic keeps re-appearing every other day?

The only way Fury avoids Whyte is if he fights Joshua and the only person to make that happen will be Eddie Hearn - Whyte's own promoter. Instead of talking ***** about WBC, Whyte should simply as his promoter to tell Arum "Joshua fight unless Whyte's given his chance". But deep down, even Whyte knows neither WBC, Arum, Eddie or the public is interested in a Dillian Whyte fight over Joshua-Fury. If he were a bigger star, people would have been demanding his fight but no one is because he's just a second category fighter only known in Britain and cannot compete with the first tier boxers of AJ, Fury, and Wilder.

As I said in the other thread, he can go fight Miller or Ruiz or Ortiz in the US and make a name for himself. He'll be in a much better financial position to compete for a voluntary fight then.

I think it’s more correct to say it was historically most prestigious, but now they’ve trashed their status just like the WBA have

Doesn’t matter which belt you have now

To me that's pointless its risk free for Fury and AJ gains nothing more than another win on his record.
Yeah, well it makes the belt part of the equation redundant anyway

Same for Lomachenko/Lopez, we thought we’d get a legit undisputed lightweight champion, but then the WBC sniffed some money again....
