Damn. Beterbiev took the fight out of gvozdyk. You could actually see his will and determination leave his soul during that fight.

I don't think he wanted that ever again. He just knows it is a terrible match up and he has to go through hell and back just to survive. Beterbiev has his number.
Gvozdyk though is 33 years old. You see fighters fighting in their late 30s or even in their 40s now a days, but 33 years old while fighting his entire life is VERY taxing to the body and mind. I believe he has a young family as well so he wants to spend time with them. Gvozdyk doesn't have many professional fights and just got on the world scene recently so it seems like the retirement came quick, but really that is not the case.
Again, good for him. Became a world champion and made some solid money.Comment

WTF? Was not expecting that. I he has a lot more to offer.
Gvozdyk was an interesting case, according to accomplishment, he was the least skilled of his 3 Ukranian brothers, but his division is the hardest to contest to and still had once been the no.1 in his division.Comment
