So Keith Thurman was countered and almost KTFO by literal journeymen in Luis Collazo and Josesito Lopez - neither of which are known for counter punching - but a Top 10 counter-puncher of the past 25 years (in a group with Floyd, BHop, Toney, and Canelo) would get "whooped".

Well, just look what happened after he knocked out Pacquiao and fought Bradley.

Bradley out witted him, and even handled Marquez's power well. Bradley put on a show and Marquez looked dull.

I thought Bradley showed his quality in that fight. Had him winning 117-111, the spit decision was insane. One-sided clinic. Shame we never got Bradley vs Mayweather, Mayweather would have won of course, but he was a very worthy opponent that never was.

Marquez gets beat by several of those guys. Cotto, I would have loved to seen Hatton -Marquez . Clottey beats him, Margarito beats him . Marquez is good, but he cried wolf soooo many times people statred to beleive it. Jacobs does this now. Wish Morales and Marquez would have fought. Have Morales winning that fight. Marquez really struggled with guys like Juan diaz and Katsidis.

1. Bradley was never a worthy opponent- y'all only hype him because Manny cherrypicked him.
2. We got Floyd v the best competition out there leagues above Bradley.
Manny drug the feather fisted Tim UP from 140 for that fight. Tim was 5-1 underdog. Manny was the #2 p4p guy and had no business fighting Tim. Just like he had no business fighting Rios or Algieri.
Floyd gets hate for fighting the extremely elite level of competition he did- I could only imagine the hate he'd get for fighting Bradley.

I agree with post. Marquez is an amazing counterpuncher but he had obvious flaws in his game as well. He was in really close fights with people all the time.

I think we all agree that Manny is the greater fighter here.

I don't see Marquez beating Oscar, Clottey, Cotto, Thurman or Mosely. Marquez has a shot at the other guys that Manny fought.

But then again Marquez isn't get slept by Torrecampo or Sangsurat.

but the fact is, he never did. He beat the baby bulls and katsidis' of the world and was fortunate to not only get a 3rd fight (even though he went 0-1-1), but even a 4th fight with Pacquiao, who at this point was knock out or be knocked out mentality, and fortunately for Marquez, he was able to get it

beats the crap? I'm not too sure on that. Yea Broner was a head case and already had those losses, but we're talking about an even older Marquez at the time they would've fought, so even with all that nonsense with Broner, he might've been able to pull it off, it still has that reach on Marquez and bad style too
