If Spence its able to recover and look like his former self he beats Crawford. But if not its gonna be harder for him to beat Crawford. Danny Garcia will be a good first test to see where Spence is at with his recovery. I'm not sure what to expect from Spence when he gets in the ring. Also these types of fights always take longer to make because of politics and money. Just like the AJ and Wilder fight was which will turn into the AJ-Fury tug of war.

To me, Manny can leave the sport honorably as a champion and as a living legend. He deserves it...
The Crawford vs Spence fight Manny because the fight will generate a loss.
If you factor in the fact that the proceeds have to be split between ESPN and PBC/Showtime/F, Haymon and Arum, and then Crawford and Spence, there is no way the higher ups will of all those companies will agree to make the fight at a loss.
Crawford and Spence won't accept peanuts either.
Whichever way you look at it, Spence has to fight Manny first, especially since beating Manny basically makes him a ppv star and a three belt champion. It would also be ideal if Crawford fought Porter and Thurman or Ugas or Brook, two of those four while Spence deals with Garcia and Pac.
The Manny vs Floyd fight became so big because despite the fact that they were not fighting each other, they were fighting big names and cleaning out the division.
To generate the revenue required, Spence and Crawford have to take out the other big names.
I understand it sounds like a contradiction to say Spence vs Crawford can't be made because of the financial logistics of "the other side" situation, but seeing as Porter and Thurman aren't champions and are coming off of loses, I'm making the assumption that PBC/Fox/Showtime would not have a problem about letting those fighters go to the other side. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain because should those fighters win, they will come back to PBC/Showtime/Fox as champions and generate more interest and revenue for them, and create a buzz for more unification fights to be made.
However Crawford and Arum are dismissive of those guys.
I'll tell you why.
Because if those guys come over, Arum will have to convince ESPN to pay them, failing of which, he will have to pay them himself.
This is what Arum doesn't want. If you've listened to him about such fights, he always asks the question of "who will pay him? Where will the money come from?"
It's probably the same reason he is dismissive about the Kell Brook fight.
It was different when HBO, Arum could for example make fights with Golden Boy because both TR and Golden Boy fighters fought on HBO.
He could take his figures to Britain because Sky was willing to pay for those match ups.
However, since he went to ESPN, he been asking that question a lot, who will pay the purse of the fighter coming over?
This situation is more complicated then people seem to think.
I understand that as fans we are supposed to care about only one thing, making the fights happen.
Honestly, the real person holding the division back is actually Manny Pacquiao.
If he just retired or fought Spence, the Crawford fight would happen sooner, it's clear that the game plan for Spence and Haymon is to get all three belts and the clout from beating Manny into negotiations, I get that Pac doesn't want to be used like that, but at the same time it also tells you that he ain't confident of beating Spence.
Or perhaps he thinks he'll get robbed, I don't know.

So what another 2-3 years when nobody wants to see the fight anymore. It's sad boxing fans have to wait so long for a good fight

All the back & forth at 147 is such a waste of time and energy. There's no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow like they seem to think. Spence & Crawford are A level fighters, but they aren't the most compelling personalities & boxing is largely an afterthought in the US sports media. If this fight ever comes to fruition, which seems increasingly doubtful, I don't see it cracking more than 600-700k buys.

Why do it now when it's worth ten times later?
That's been the mentality of these people. If you have noticed.
You just have to hope one of them or both loses along the way.
Not to mention things like injuries, accidents, you name it.
For a guy who just had a close brush with death you'd think he'll have a different perspective in life.

Crawford not three weeks ago said he didn't want to fight Manny because he's old and he didn't want excuses.
Bob Arum is feeding you guys BS and you're buying into the BS.
Thurman only happened because it was Haymon. Broner only happened because it was Haymon.

Spence what are your expectations in this economy and pandemic. I'm not sure if there will ever be money made the way Mayweather did. This is exactly what make the fighters of old different from today's fighters. Before anyone says, there's nothing wrong with wanting money. Like I stated Spence will never see a Mayweather payday, so step up and make the fight.
