Why? Good question. It is because the janitor in under contract with Haymon and he priced himself out, just as Charlo and Derevyanchenko did or maybe it is because the janitor fought recently and he needs time to recover as did Caleb Plant. But the truth is I am only guessing. Maybe the janitor will lower his asking price if Haymon will let him and we will see that fight in September.

Anthony Dirrell is among a small group of opponents Golden Boy Promotions is considering for Canelo Alvarez's next fight, BoxingScene.com has learned. Golden Boy, Alvarez's promoter, is in the process of exploring a fight against a cheaper opponent than Billy Joe Saunders for the Mexican superstar's next bout because he might have to box at least once without fans in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions. Here come the Canelo groupies to spin it and say "this is a great fight! "...,just as they did when murota was mentioned as a potential opponent and how they did last weak when old man river pascal said he wanted a Canelo fight.

No spin here, normally I would be disappointed with Dirrell as a choice.

But Canelo's potential opponents can't be expecting $8 million during the current environment and with no crowds. That's just asinine.

Unless Saunders or Callum Smith or Caleb Plant are willing to fight for much less then this is the reality. I won't bring up Golovkin taking less...he refuses to even fight Canelo.
