He fought in one of the weakest divisions in the sport. He had no good competition unless a Roy Jones or an Antonio Tarver would have moved up in weight to challenge him like James Toney did.
Ok so you answered my question with a question.

Why don’t you just tell me who he beat.

How many Top 5-10 guys did he beat?

Really displayed all of Toney’s talents
Such a shame that Toney compromised his extraordinary skills and legacy by a lack of discipline and continual steroid use.

Great fight that makes me awestruck of Toney's skills but also pissed off that he didn't apply himself in the way he should have.

Imagine him ruling over 168 for years and meeting Joe Calzaghe as a young buck.

That was a fight we were cheated out of by his lack of discipline.

It just goes to show you how great he was that he's probably a top 10 fighter of the last 30 years even without discipline and is a bonafide hall of famer.

There’s no scenario where James Toney would rule over a division years especially when Roy Jones was around who was vastly superior to him in every way.
