Comments Thread For: Guido Vianello Aims To Be The Next Italian Great at Heavyweight

Rising heavyweight star Guido Vianello has set himself some lofty ambitions as he looks to join a long and heralded list of Italian world boxing champions. A former police officer in Rome who relocated to Las Vegas to fulfil his childhood dream with the help of S-JAM Boxing and Top Rank, the 6-foot-6 Vianello has been good as advertised so far, winning all six of his professional bouts by knockout.

I like Vianello and hopefully him working with Joyce, Fury etc. will bring him along quickly. An Italian heavyweight should make decent money as well as they have been starved of any talent.

No. As a matter of fact, Vianello is another overhyped bum like Vincenzo Cantatore, people who play boxing because their families have enough money to let the children play, until they get hurt.

After that, it's either criminality or some TV show if they have the right political connections.

I dont trust his chin. When he steps up and someone puts it on him he will likely fold imo.
Also kevin barry is a **** trainer.

              Fury's sparring partner right?

He's Italian so I doubt he can fight.

Actually being Italian, he should be pretty good on the back foot!

Vianello is better then Hughie but like Hughie Fury he will have difficulties with the aggressive boxers who can out work him or make him back up . When he fought Mahkmudov he made a good account of himself but these are the types negative will get to him .

Sonny Conto is the next Italian champion at heavyweight.

Never heard of Conto. Thanks for that, I will keep an eye out for him. I don't think Vianello is going to be anything special but he seems like a nice guy and will hopefully do well at European level with a couple of fringe world fights.
