    Marquez > Morales

Morales makes an invalid point in saying he beat Pacquiao the first time. A lot of boxing fans think JMM won all 4 fights and a strong argument can be made that he definitely won 2, 3 and 4. Plus Morales got outboxed by Barrera and Zahir Raheem (remember him????) so that leads me to believe JMM would’ve beat him as well.

No Mexican boxer was with the ****s more than morales. That dude was always willing to fight anyone and despite having boxing skills, once you hit him he was ready to slug it out. Seriously doubt he'd avoid Marquez for any reason.

          On paper, Marquez ducked Morales.

Instead of Morales, Marquez went to Indonesia to fight Chris John for bum money and got his a.ss beat.

So Pacquaiao beat a weight-drained version of Morales? Very interesting.

That needs to be added to Pac's list.

              that is exactly what happened

              great fight !

difficult to pick a winner because it is unclear exactly how those styles would mesh and unclear who would make the better/tighter adjustments... sometimes it just comes down to 1 or 2 little things that work, that could be one of those fights

Marquez went on to have a better career but Morales is a truly great fighter

I would not bet a dollar on that fight, but I learned to never bet against Marquez a long time ago

Morales would have beaten him. Those little slips Marquez makes to set up counter shots work against a shorter armed Pacquiao. Morales lands repeatedly and makes it a war.

I agree. Morales in his prime beats Marquez. Morales would have NEVER lost to Chris John and in Morales v Pacquiao I Morales easily outboxed Pacquiao and the fight was entertaining. It was Morales last great fight.

You are so spot on and I just so happen to agree. Morales only wanted to fight Marquez after he was past his prime. While Erik was in his prime Erik avoided Marquez like the plague. Likewise, once Marquez became a crossover household name then Morales only decided that he wanted to to fight him for the money but JMM said never.
