Eubank took the fight on 10 days notice, when Steve Collins wisely decided to retire instead of go through with the Calzaghe fight

Eubank had to lose 20lbs in seven days to make weight, and needed injections in his knee to mask the pain from a knee injury (he couldn't walk for weeks after the fight).

I don't know, tbh. He signed a 10-fight deal with Frank Warren, the first of which would be against Mark Prince for the WBO Intercontinental light-heavy belt on the Collins-Calzaghe/Hamed undercard, the last of which would be against Roy Jones. I know Dariusz Michalczewski, Graciano Rocchigiani, Henry Maske, Steve Collins and James Toney were planned bouts for Eubank.

Eubank under-estimated Calzaghe, I don't think anybody told him just How awesome Joe was! He obviously thought he'd win the fight, and had already planned a bout against Sugar Boy Malinga in South Africa if he beat Calzaghe.

                  and Calzaghe of course

Would U agree that Joe has surpassed them all?
                  Easily.

He's the best fighter out of that group hands down.

Herol Bomber Graham would of beaten Joe in 98 if he didnt run on sand for the fight. . .and would give him a close fight right NOW ( let alone the Bomber of 20 years bck who would of made Hagler look silly )

and Graham would of beaten Benn and Eubank on the same night

I think he'd of been completely out-worked by Calzaghe. That's the last fight Calzaghe would of wanted anyway!
