Canelo's fight with Mayweather was meant to be a litmus test of his skills. While it's true that Floyd was at the top of the division, he was not a devastating puncher. Canelo was never in any real danger of having anything bruised but his ego. Sulaiman is exaggerating in saying Mayweather could have ended Alvarez's career. Kelly Pavlik's career was essentially ended by B-Hop, but he was already weakened in spirit with alcoholism. Canelo doesn't strike me as being fragile like that.
