Lots of mindless nonsense being spewed here, I’ve felt compelled to post for the first time...
Comparable accomplishments aside (titles won, champs defeated etc.), Porter is effectively choosing between having a dynamically offensive style, the adoration of all his countrymen and millions of others, and no criminal convictions against having an unblemished record, a unique defensive style with minimal punishment taken and being the successful PPV fighter ever.
How is it so hard to accept or at least fathom why one of the so-called good guys of boxing, who has a busy offensive style and losses on his record that he has bounced back from, would place less value on not losing and pick Pacquaio’s career over Mayweather’s? Especially when this option would still grant him HoF/ATG status and untold wealth like choosing Mayweather, which even as a successful boxer he could only imagine for himself, never mind the majority of posters on this forum most likely living on regular paychecks?
All this chat over which fighter is greater/better is just noise. Porter was given a choice over what career to have, and either option is entirely acceptable and his choice to make. That you have idiot faceless and nameless posters now attacking Porter and questioning his judgement/integrity/intellect, over what is purely a stated personal preference, is truly sad and justifies why the likes of Breadman and possibly many others don’t bother reading the trash that comprises the bulk of comments on these forums.
