  • Lots of mindless nonsense being spewed here, I’ve felt compelled to post for the first time...

Comparable accomplishments aside (titles won, champs defeated etc.), Porter is effectively choosing between having a dynamically offensive style, the adoration of all his countrymen and millions of others, and no criminal convictions against having an unblemished record, a unique defensive style with minimal punishment taken and being the successful PPV fighter ever.

How is it so hard to accept or at least fathom why one of the so-called good guys of boxing, who has a busy offensive style and losses on his record that he has bounced back from, would place less value on not losing and pick Pacquaio’s career over Mayweather’s? Especially when this option would still grant him HoF/ATG status and untold wealth like choosing Mayweather, which even as a successful boxer he could only imagine for himself, never mind the majority of posters on this forum most likely living on regular paychecks?

All this chat over which fighter is greater/better is just noise. Porter was given a choice over what career to have, and either option is entirely acceptable and his choice to make. That you have idiot faceless and nameless posters now attacking Porter and questioning his judgement/integrity/intellect, over what is purely a stated personal preference, is truly sad and justifies why the likes of Breadman and possibly many others don’t bother reading the trash that comprises the bulk of comments on these forums.

      3. Floyd has never won a vacant world belt in his career. He's earned them all the hard way. Never been a paper champion unlike Pacquiao who has been a paper champ throughout his career winning several vacant titles.
      4. Greatest resume in Boxing history? Floyd Mayweather Jr. A resume unburdened by the cherrypicking of playground fighters like Brandon "the biological android" Rios, Chris "Call me Vegan" Algieri, Timothy "Walnut" Bradley, Jessie "My eyes keep popping outta my head" Vargas, Jeff "these kids won't take me serious" Horn...and further unburdened by any losses to those extreme cherrypicks- unlike Manny.
      5. Never been put on the canvas. Unlike Manny.
      6. Never been knocked out. Unlike Manny.
      7. Never loss. Unlike you know who..
      8. Broke all records and was the highest paid athlete in the past decade WITH THE LEAST amount of endorsements. Purely a success through Boxing- his field of work. Unlike Manny.
      9. Holds the record for most title fights in boxing history. Unlike Manny.
      10. Has the longest p4p streak in Boxing history. Unlike Manny.
      11. Most continuous world champion bouts in boxing history. Unlike Manny. See when you cherrypick Tim Bradley you break whatever championship streak you were building up.
      12. IS SO DAMN GOOD THAT HE Manages to get hate for easily dominating and beating an experienced contender, top welter, and former 2x champion in Andre Berto. Unlike Manny who gets praised even though he LOSS to a cherrypicked, inexperienced, part time Boxer named Jeff Horn. There are only two explainable reasons for #12. 1) Racism- which many of you will pretend isn't true and doesn't exist. Or, 2) That deep down everybody acknowledges in their hearts that Manny was never as good as hyped up to be so they didn't mind Manny cherrypicking Australian firefighters; meanwhile ALSO deep down in their hearts they acknowledge just how much of an ATG Floyd was and felt even former 2x champs were no match for him. Pick one at your leisure.
      13. Never was dominated and made to look like a child by his arch- rival and main opponent in his era. Then cried and lied making up multiple excuses until one could stick. Unlike Manny. ~Circa May 02, 2015.
Yeah, I'd much rather be Floyd and any sane Boxing fan would rather have his career as well.
Top notch posts like these is what makes this sight worthwhile!! Mayweather may be one of the top 3 boxers that has ever fought in the history of this sport, and probably one of the most hated due to his UNAPOLOGETIC approach & desire to strive for GREATNESS!! Manny is second tier to Floyd, his ENDLESS excuses in 2009 to not take stringent testing with NO CUT OFF date was appalling and an EMBARRASSMENT to boxing! Only when his taxes needed to be paid was he more than willing to take those TESTS!

As far as Floyd is concerned: Who the hell doesn’t have a PERSONAL life with things in it that are less than stellar? - the point is: YOU MOVE ON and focus on getting BETTER! Haters are BLIND to better, they let their natural hate entertain a question that should be a statement: Mayweather had a better career, was a better fighter - but hate, jealousy and racism always leads to confusion and confusing questions!

Porters answer speaks volumes, he wants people to greet him on the streets? To tell him how nice he is? And to endorse the WILDNESS he most of the time is content on displaying? ...With GREATNESS and personal flaws there’s a price to pay, Porter is just fine where he is - content with his flaws in and out the ring, so 2nd & 3rd tier with the adoration of fans is just fine for him.

      • Lots of Floyd fanboys in here being salty af. Lmao.

Truth is that more people respect PAC, that’s what Porter is saying.
Not lots of being respect Floyd.
I think it’s due to his antics outside of the ring.

Lots of Floyd trolls on this site.
          Idk why they aren’t banned.
They fill the threads up with nonsense and junk.

          • Why would porter wants to be called a coward like floyd when he can be called a true warrior like pac...

            • Floyd was a very good boxer who didn't fight the best at their best. Manny did. Floyd even ran from the Pacquiao rematch when he found out Pacquiao had an injured shoulder in their first fight. He literally said that as his reason. This was an old and faded Pacquiao and Floyd turned down big money just in case Pacquaio had something more to offer in the rematch!

That's how I sum it up. Mayweather will make most people's top 10 boxers of all time but someone like Ray Robinson or Ali will always top him because they had those tough fights.

As the years go on Floyd will drop down the chart a bit, as people re-assess his career

Pac may have beat more, but when it comes down to it... who was the better fighter? No one is going to say Manny was a better fighter than Floyd.

Manny got beat by Floyd, pretty handily.
Pac was a better fighger than floyd he beat same opponent much much btter than floyd except for jmm and about floyd beating pac handily maybe u watch a different fight because i saw pac beating floyd in every department but not in running and hugging.

That's where pac excel, he wobbled floyd several times and have the more harder punches landed.

                    • Porter even had the nerve to criticize Spences style. When everyone knew Spence was SURE to win against him! And Spence rightfully gave him an earful! Porter may not want to play the “bad guy” Wrestlemania tough guy role to get fans to watch him (and to whom it may concern - that’s COMMENDABLE!), but Mayweather ain’t a bad guy in real. He’s a seriously driven guy that understands human nature, and how to get Hater Nation to respond - and RESPOND they do!! Haters have made him ****** RICH..lol! When all they had to do was IGNORE his antics - they’ve made him a RICH man(?) because emotionally they couldn’t contain their HATE towards him!? Is that perverted justice or some coooked out dilemma haters suffer from!

Floyd even RESPECTFULLY donned his Mexican Sombrero on Cinco De Mayo to kick ass on a day SACRED to Mexicans - and came out on TOP every time!

Porter believes his style is MORE fan friendly than Mayweather’s?? I say HELL no!! And with all that BIG money Porter earns as a Professional (and rightly so), fans have the right & privilege to BLAST his arguments to SMITHEREENS! Just like they do Mayweather’s! It’s PART of what professionals gets PAID for to endure, AND what they MUST endure as a distinguished hard working and dedicated CHAMPS of the sport!!

Porter isn’t “morally” right with everyone else being “morally” wrong! So he can get it too - no one hates him! Pacquiao was less than stellar in many of his dealings!! ...Confusing being at PEACE with the MOST HIGH is not the same as throwing his CELEBRITY ‘nice guy’ weight around to AVOID stringent DRUG testing, in an attempt to HIDE the possibility of having DRUGS in his system BEFORE (or AFTER) knowing anything about turning ones life around!!
