The craziest thing is i think floyd beats all of those guys, at all of those weights, except paul williams - which wed understand if he avoided until a better more opportune time.

But Gatti at 140, to Sharmba and Chop Chop at 147??? Thats a lifetime club fighter to lifetime 140 lbers on the tale end of their career at a new weight class. Zab was a good win at 147, Hatton was a deserved spotlight win, but Baldomir? Shiet. Sorry floyd was the bigger cherrypicker for sure.


Floyd got Oscar after he had only fought six rounds in three years and they were against mayorga.. Floyd got mosley after he had only fought 9 rounds in 21 months, and they were against a shook margarito. Those were the longest layoffs for those two old guys. U can throw out those wins for both guys - meaningless in my book. But if u need to hold onto them, id say this, mosley 1-2 years younger with less rust, floyd doesnt make it to the fourth round. Anyone who disagrees doesnt know boxing.

That leaves us with only two common opponents - cotton and Hatton. Hatton was exposed by both but manny sure looked more spectacular. Floyd fought a bigger and stronger cotto for sure, he also didnt dominate. But i give him more credit for that win than manny. Altho again no one expected manny to do what he did.

Agree ill take the money and less brain damage too. But floyds behavior outside of the ring make me thing hes got a decent amount of brain damage himself - not unlike any other fighter.

What manny has is that he can walk around anywhere he wants without a crew of large bodyguards on retainer. I'll take that over people hating me and/or challenging me on the streets everywhere.

That's is a good point where the latter stages almost became staged. The exhibition bouts with the Japanese, the milking of dumb ass fans paying to watch him go in the ring with a UFC clown. I see where/why people take him far less serious when in the later stages he didn't take it serious himself, just a thing to make money with little or no risk...
