Why would he not accept 500k more from the actual champ and instead fight Golovkin a non champion for a vacant tittle and not negotiate a 50/50 split with Golovkins 20 million? Essentially your saying that he wanted 35 percent of Canelos 35 million (12.25 million)but ended up settling for 25 percent of Golovkins purse when he was actually entitled to 50 percent of Golovkins 20. Most likely they'd get round it with an equity deal I'd imagine. I think GGG took about half his payday vs Derevyanchenko in DAZN equity. Most of his opponent have been reasonably paid though. Besides best I can tell the deals already done and agreed with the IBF, GGG had already started camp before Covid hit I think.
