I'm not a "fan" of any promoter but it seems pretty obvious it's Al who's trying to cash in as much as possible by promoting both fighters until there's no one left to match and he's forced to take his in house tournament winner outside the PBC umbrella.
This is the same Al that sent Molina and Diaz to HBO to fight Crawford. The same Al that sent Jacobs to HBO to fight GGG. The same Al that sent Ruiz to fight Joshua on DAZN. The same Al that just did a co-promo with TR/ESPN for Wilder vs. Fury II. Now as far as Arum goes...

Shawn Porter caught off-guard by Bob Arum's apparent opinion change

Former two-time welterweight titleholder Shawn Porter says he is trying to understand why Top Rank promoter Bob Arum now considers him a potential fight option for Terence Crawford following previous comments that Porter wasn't a very good boxer.

"Within the last year, Bob has said I'm not a good boxer and has said that Errol Spence Jr. would be a much better, competitive and entertaining fight [for Crawford] than I could give," Porter told ESPN. "And now he has reneged on those previous statements and has declared me the best fighter PBC has..."

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum now considers Shawn Porter a potential fight option for Terence Crawford, a perspective that surprised Porter after previously hearing Arum call him a subpar boxer.

Arum: Even If Crawford & Porter Want It, How In The Hell Do You Afford The Fight?

Bob Arum wouldn’t mind matching Terence Crawford against Shawn Porter.

Crawford’s promoter admittedly is more interested in putting together a more lucrative Crawford-Errol Spence Jr. fight, but Crawford-Porter is more intriguing to Arum than it was this time a year ago. Arum’s opinion of Porter completely changed once the former IBF and WBC welterweight champion tested Spence like no previous opponent in a split-decision defeat seven months ago at Staples Center in Los Angeles...

Porter would become the most accomplished opponent of Crawford’s career if they were to square off. The durable, rugged Porter would be a more appealing opponent than England’s Kell Brook, at least among American boxing fans, despite that Brook beat Porter by majority decision 5½ years ago to win the IBF 147-pound crown...

Brook (39-2, 27 KOs) is the supposed front-runner to face Crawford next. Arum has had conversations with Brook’s representatives about Brook boxing Crawford (36-0, 27 KOs) in the Omaha, Nebraska, native’s first fight following the COVID-19 pandemic...

Arum’s primary problem with Crawford-Porter is that it’ll likely be more expensive to make than the fight is worth, particularly in a post-pandemic economy within which cost-conscious consumers will be more reluctant than usual to pay $70 or $80 to watch it.

“I’m happy that Shawn and Terence wanna sit and talk about a fight,” Arum told BoxingScene.com. “But, you know, that’s the first step. The second step is how in the hell do you afford the fight? And how do you put it on?”

By Keith Idec - Bob Arum wouldn’t mind matching Terence Crawford against Shawn Porter. Crawford’s promoter admittedly is more interested in putting together a m

You just never know with Arum! He says Crawford vs. Porter won't sell, but he thinks Crawford vs. Brook will?

Hate Crawford all you want, but you can not deny the talent. However, if you stick to saying he's nothing special. Obvious you have a kind of ****** bias, or just don't know boxing.

Welterweight contender Egidijus Kavaliauskas remains undefeated tonight, but he didn’t win either, earning a majority draw with Ray Robinson after 10 rounds of action on ESPN. Kavaliauskas seemed to have a really lackluster performance, and the judges turned in scores of 97-93 for Robinson, and two cards of 95-95. BLH also had the rounds split after 10 rounds, with a draw looking like a fair result.

Kavaliauskas was looking to put on a performance that could land him a fight with Terence Crawford, but this wasn’t the performance he probably hoped for. Kavaliauskas (21-0-1, 17 KOs) started the fight slowly with Robinson (24-3-1, 12 KOs) keeping him off balance with constant lateral movement and long shots from the outside. Then, when Robinson’s legs started to tire, Kavaliauskas started coming on and landing some big shots, but he never took the initiative to really step on the gas and pour it on.

        Shawn Porter washes Kavaliauskas!
Like he washed Granados? Or Julio Diaz twice?

Shawn Porter is a wild swinging pressure fighter that cant punch. Always has been.

Spence is going to get those false chiclets knocked out his mouth.

                  Sean's take

Both Spence and Crawford are the best fighters in boxing today. I have to disagree with Sean on the results however because of the power Spence has number one and his consistent output with that firepower. Remember when Charlo a much bigger man than Spence sparred with him regularly and compared his power to that of a light heavyweight? Bud is a great puncher but a smaller man and I just don't think he can handle that. In addition Bud tends to box in spurts on and off whereas Spence is constantly punching and pressuring . Porter's showing against Spence was better than expected but that was more about styles than skill. Spence should have boxed Sean from the outside instead he fought Sean's style and made the fight closer than it should have been.

                    Crawford vs Spence

Porter made some good points but Crawford wins when he can move around the ring and switch at will but Crawford is a much different fighter under pressure and Spence pressure power and skill will secure a win for him very easily

This is the fight I want to see most. Skilled fighters with vicious intent. If Spence fights the way he fought Mikey, Terence will have a hard time winning.
