Yeah, I pretty much say the fight was agreed well in advance don't I? Although I didn't know exactly when it was signed so thanks for the heads up.
Negotiations were broken off I think summer '16 if I recall right, with Oscar citing Canelos legal issues with a former promoter or something as the reason but with a verbal agreement that he'd fight GGG in Sept 17.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 05-21-2020, 10:45 AM.Comment

End of 2015 Canelo fought Cotto.

2016 GGG fought Brook. I didn't think ggg looked that great against brook. I had it tied up before the KO.
2017 Jacob's fight GGG and fight could of went either way.
Then he fights Canelo....
I just don't get the ducking comments??? The timelines don't add up???
I dont see the GGG that fought Brook wayyyy better than the ggg that fought Canelo and Jacob's.
Its horse sht IMO. How far back we need go???? 2014?? 2013??? Canelo wasn't even in that WC.Comment

Have you ever taken the time to see how impeccable my arguments are? Now why TF would I ever say GGG is in his prime at 37? It’s make zero sense for me to say that and as far Sergio Martinez he was a shot fighter after Chavez JR. We all know that.
Listen if your pissed off that gggs career didn’t turn out so well, understand one thing:”You don’t have to lie about ggg to trash him, the truth is his worst enemy when it comes to his career!” Go to Boxrec and cross reference anything we sayComment

Your arguments are terrible, they are biased , I couldn’t care less about GGGs career, imbeciles like yourself are always trying to discredit fighters because of your blind man love of another fighter, try becoming a fan of the sport, not the fighter and grow up imbecileHave you ever taken the time to see how impeccable my arguments are? The thing with ggg is never in his career did he fight someone he wasn’t favored to win heavily. How in the hell would you even know when his prime or the peak of his career was? Especially when ppl are saying it was vs Geale or Macklin or even Stevenson. Not a good way to gauge it at all vs those cab drivers. This is basically the classic story of 2 boxers hitting their peaks about 10 years apart. Who do you blame? Do you blame ggg for waiting till he was 35 to step up his game or do you blame Canelo for taking the fight when everything made sense? If you ask me they both waited till the time was right yet only one of them was able to preserve a positive legacy. We should all support the fighter who made the right decisions not the fighter who made a bunch of excuses
The thread was about whether golovkin was past his prime or not fighting canelo, so your are a liar and will write anything that suits your agenda gerbilComment
