I don't get into duck talk. Duck talk is the 2nd dumbest sh^t mfers here talk about besides atg/prime vs prime fantasy bs.

But it's 100% clear Lou didn't want Sergio to fight GGG. That was no secret & it's not even debatable. How much Sergio was behind it or agreed with it idk nor care. Lou represented Sergio in the business of boxing so it was the official Team Sergio stance, more or less, that was loudest on display at the time. I don't usually even remember sh^t like that but Lou was so open & blatant with his remarks about not fighting GGG I remember it well. Kinda like the SSM my tooth hurts sh^t when it came to fighting Floyd 3 or 4yrs earlier than it happened when Floyd wanted to fight name guys that's unforgettable for anyone who saw it back then.

The main component I do actually care about is boxing works in a dumbass way & GGG being avoided by guys in his division for so long is just one example of why boxing makes no fooking sense. Spence bring avoided by top guys for so long is another. Even Thurman didn't get a shot at the top guys as soon as he deserved it. It's very likely Boots Ennis will be an addition to this long list eventually & plenty of others get the same treatment.

It's ****** & it ruins the best fights being seen when they are the best fights to make. That's my only dog in this race with this GGG & Sergio bs that went down. Sergio shoulda been out at the top sooner regardless of his age or any injury. Cashing out shouldn't be as much of a thing in boxing & if it happens it should just be a byproduct of the best fights vs the best guys happening sooner.

how come Martinez, selecting a money-fight over Golovkin... IS a duck...

... but Golovkin selecting Vanes, and being stripped by the IBF for avoiding Derevyanchenko... because he wanted to wait for a money-fight... IS NOT a duck...?

... and how come not selecting Saunders in June, for Golovkin's undisputed middleweight unification title-fight dream - as the IBF would not have enforced a mandatory with Derevyanchenko if a unification with Saunders was signed - simply because Golovkin preferred to wait for a money-fight... IS NOT a absolute blatant 100% barbecued duck...?

how can it be different for both fighters... ?

surely, the only question is... who had EARNED the right to cash out with a well-deserved money-fight at that point, and who had not...?

surely that is the only question lol

Martinez was on his last legs... ooops, I mean... leg

and he had already proved himself multiple times

that is not the situation with Golovkin

are you... fans... possibly being a little too hard on Martinez... ?

The other day you were trying to tell everyone GGG was in his prime at 37, yet Sergio is shot at 38, you hypocrite, you will write anything that fits your agenda

As far as I recall. Oscar cited Canelo's legal issues and they walked away. From what Loeffler said they fully acknowledged they were the B side and were willing to be flexible with it but it just never reached that point. Whilst Canelo did say he wouldn't be forced into unnatural deadlines he never once claimed or suggested that GGG was trying to push it to purse, at least not that I saw, and neither did Oscar make such a claim. I think that's more just a fan interpretation that went well beyond what was actually said.

What we do know is that Oscar said in early 2015 that a Golovkin fight was a 'superfight' but that it was maybe two years away and needed time to build and that Canelo needed time to acclimatise to 160. We also know that in '16 when Canelo vacated that essentially a plan was in place with Loeffler for the fight to happen sept 17.

IDK, just looks to me that what actually transpired is what Oscar /GBP planned all along. Ain't faulting anyone, that's just the way the sport is... Money guys call the shots. They were smart to wait IMO.
You do know he signed to fight GGG before the Chavez fight???

He signed 12/16 one year after fighting Cotto..
