Bread dropping more knowledge, good list. I actually thought he'd have Joe Louis ranked lower on the list

Stephen Edwards is my Sensei for all Saturday's and when he put extra edition.

One of the best Daily Bread Mailbag in this extra edition. The list with all the reason explained, help me know a few names I never knew outside the list of Bread. Now I have more information to search and learn more. I still don't know why people always hate the list of someone as great in Stephen Edwards, he the expert in boxing history. I have my disagreement, but they are little.

Most of the list I wouldn't argue with. I'm not convinced on Langford. Bread, himself, has made the point that we can't compare fighters who we can't see & there is no good footage of Langford.
If you're going to rate Langford highly, why not Fitzsimmons? Langford COULD have won multiple titles but Fitzsimmons DID. Yes, it was harder for Langford because he was black but we can only know what actually happened not speculate about the might've beens.
Langford didn't step up & knock out a guy that outweighed him by 20 ibs to win the world heavyweight title. Fitzsimmons did.
There is no way of knowing whether Langford or Ketchel was better. What we know was that the 6 rounder was only intended as an appetiser for what might have been a fight for the ages but for Walter Dipley.
According to reports it started out as a light spar but once the spectators started boo-ing Stan began to get quite spiteful & it turned into more of a brawl.

I like Sam Langford but definitely not in my top 10.

My top 10 is not very different to Bread's but it won't have Langford or Pepp. It will have Pernell. Pernell is to boxing what Art Tatum is to Jazz.

No Floyd on the list = Bad list

The best boxer who ever laced gloves should easily crack Top 10 and he's not even in the honorable mention?

like I always said... Mayweather is about about 15'ish, maybe a little higher... Pac is about 25'ish, maybe a little higher

be cool if bread did a 11-20 list next
I don't know much about the past but the last 25-30 years Floyd is #1

                  Daily Bread

Bread is an extremely knowledgable and highly respected boxing historian and trainer. This list is just his opinion and I respect that but it still is just his opinion it is not an official rating by any means.

Floyd Mayweather Jnr, Manny Pacman the last of the greatest ever in the sport of boxing. Floyd is probably in the top 3 complete fighter category of all time; skill set definitely at number 1 and I believe history books will ultimately put him there. Funny how other fighters' losses are accommodated more that others - Marvin Haglers' loss to SRL has seemingly nullified all of his accomplishments, fact is the result could have gone either way and where would we rank Hagler then, definitely in the top 5 fighter of all time. This bias towards old school fighters who we all know had an inferior skill set vis a vie the Roy Jones' of this world; but had unquestionable brawl and grit will not last the test of time. Boxing men of old grow up please.

When did you start watching boxing, 2013?
