Boxing is a numbers game not just getting a title back ,it’s not so easy as AJ made it look and would and will be a mountain to climb for Ruiz with other big heavyweights not just AJ, Joyce, DDD , Hrgovic ,Mahkmudov ,and evening,Usyk who is a very bad match up because of his movement are all here , not even including Hughie and Tyson ,there’s just many guys that are going to be difficult for him I’d even say the 6”5 plus Wallin gives him trouble . I don’t even see Ruiz getting by Wilder either just on the height disparities.
Edit : Ruiz also ate and drank a lot before the weigh in so it made him look bad or worse then the actual circumstances, anyone who knows boxing will tell you fighters don’t eat much fight day and are usually lighter hours later so give or take subtracting the pounds with no gear on as well, he probably weighed 270 or so if he was 280 or whatever he was ,people just don’t want to give credit to AJ and would just find something else ,I noticed that on here . But my point stands ,AJ simply matches much better with guys who would give Ruiz trouble , he has a shot at Whyte, Parker and Povetkin and I have him over Ortiz but that’s because certain things do t come into play in these type of fights.
So I don't see what you are trying to say about these big guys the only 2 that I see giving an in shape Ruiz problems are Fury and Wilder I'd say it would be 70-30 in Furys favor and 50-50 with Wilder. Fury really likes to feint a lot and he drops his hands when he does that so Ruiz could still have success but I think his movement combined with his range would be pretty hard to overcome.
With Wilder he stands a better chance Wilder doesn't have that great an inside game not that many Heavyweights do so if Ruiz could close distance he can touch him up for sure Wilder has a good jab and a lethal right hand so if he can keep range I could see him being the first to stop Ruiz also that's why I say it's a closer fight.
Joyce, DDD , Hrgovic ,Mahkmudov all these guys are untested at championship level. I know Joyce had a good amateur career and did the WSB but damn that dude is slow as **** I have no idea how he achieved so much he looked terrible in the Jennings fight I'd say Ruiz knocks him out in under 6. Hrgovic looks good but hasn't had that type of fight yet to say he would beat a top 5 same with Dubois lets see him and Joyce and then it would a step closer to determining. The only fight of Mahkmudov I've seen is him beating a fat Sam Peter who had been knocked out by Robert Helenius like a decade before who necks.

Hopefully for Ruiz's sake, he sees these comments and uses it as ammunition to prove Robles and the rest of the world wrong.

Thank God the Matchroom lawyers did a good job with that rematch clause and AJ did what he had to do as well..

As in salesmen competition on the field, there’s a saying: “you don’t own the customer.”
No trainer should feel the fighter belongs to them. no need to judge the fighter when you got your cut...
