Not saying that Margarito is a better fighter than him or a more accomplished fighter than him. Just that he has certain skills or attributes that Spinks doesn't. IMO, and its just that opinion, Margarito-Mayweather is a more exciting fight and I think more meaningful than Mayweather-Spinks. Why... because although Spinks will yield him a title in his 5th weight division, a lot of media and fans will see this as taking the safe way out (if Karmazin had won against Spinks Mayweather wouldn't have challenged him) against an opponent that lacks some of the skills Margarito has. I guess what I am saying is that it doesn't look good when people are accusing you of ducking someone (Margarito) (not saying I think that) and you fight the anti-Margarito in Spinks.

I know what the thread was about, but it all related. Most of the post in this thread that I have read, have stated why Spinks is bad for Mayweather based off what Margarito offers. U right that is your opinion, and u atleast say why u prefer that, but logically speaking from what I seen of Spinks and what ive seen of Margarito, it aint hard to tell that Spinks is the more skilled fighter. U say Margo has some advantages against Floyd like size and power, Floyd has faced opposition like that before and was very impressive. Only 1 fighter has really been successful pressuring him and that is Castillo, all others have been KOed or TKoed. I dont see how margo will be any different. If he fights someone who can box and bigger than him, not that much bigger and has skills, I dont mind seeing that although I would prefer the upper tier fighters like Mosley, Delahoya, Wright. None of those people are available, hell even Hatton and Cotto are making themselves unavailable, all other challengers are pretty much the same to me: Sparring Sessions. Also Mayweather never challenged Spinks, Spinks challenged him and if Karmazin would have won and challenged Floyd he would of been considered.

Good post... no insults or anything... some good facts. This is a real discussion. I can see your point. My opinion is basically the opposite of yours. I think Floyd has fought lefty boxers before (Mitchell, Judah, Corley etc.) and has never struggled. Floyd only really struggled against Castillo. So while Margarito definitely doesn't have the skills Castillo does, I think he has more of that style to at least somewhat cause Floyd some problems. The issue is that since none of the marquee fighters are willing to fight him right now there is going to be a let down anyway you look at it. If he fights Margarito he is slow and unproven. Spinks is feather fisted and runs. Baldomir has only won 2 recognizable fights and should have lost to Joshua Clottey. So basically I just decided the best idea would be to shut people up who say he is ducking and fight Margarito. That in no way mean I favor him to win or think he has a better resume than some other options (including Spinks although I think Spinks got chances because he can't KO).

Thanks, I try not to insult anybody even when they try and insult me. Thats pointless and it just shows that u cant defend your argument. I agree with u as well, the Spinks fight is a let down as well as Margo fight. They both one and the same as far as in chances to win. I just dont feel like someone who has already proven themselves has to cont. to prove himself against an opponent who hasnt proven himself. So basically what im trying to say is that their should be NO people to shut up in regards to Margo. If u want to see him lose, thats fine, but dont push for Margarito, push for Wright or someone in the top ten in P4P rankings. Put the heat on Hatton, make him fight, put the heat On Cotto make him fight Floyd. I dont think Floyd would turn them down.

No the only person I think Floyd "turned down" was Winky Wright and that is more an issue of egos. Neither one of them will take an even split and neither one of them will take a lesser split so the fight will be difficult if not impossible to make. To me that clearly is the toughest fight for Floyd and would be really interested to see it.
