Would you say 49 yr old B-Hop is a better win than Jacobs?

I think their resumes are very close.
I dont think its close considering Kovalev has been in there with clearly better opposition...Ward 2x, alvarez 2x, pascal 2x, Hopkins, Canelo, cleverly, campillo and tough contenders like Chilemba, Yarde and Shabransky

I'd take Hopkins and Pascal> Dev and Jacobs

hopkins and pascal were established fighters who won on the big stage.....Jacobs has lost all his big fights except for the stoppage of peter quillin

also hopkins fought 2 times 12 months or less prior to the loss and looked sharp vs shumenov and murat..before that dominated cloud.

Pascal has since beat Brown and jack, won some big fights and lost some only 6 losses and been in there with a whose who of fighters 168-175

Golivkins career is better because of how Kovslev looked in his last fights. I thought he took his foot off the gas in the first Ward fight. In the rematch he looked like a guy who was wanting the ref to interceed before the low blow. Dodged a bullet in his next fight then put in a none effort against Canelo. Can't reward a guy for those performances.

A lot of those were losses though. I don’t really think going 1-1 with Eleider Alvarez is impressive. He’s pretty basic IMO.

I think GGG’s resume in terms of wins is very much on par. Jacobs, Derevyanchenko, Murray, Lemieux, Geale, Rubio, Macklin etc

I’d say that’s pretty close to 49 yr old Hopkins, Pascal x2, Cleverly on the road, E. Alvarez, Chilemba, Campillo etc.

Shabranskyy is shocking btw. I’ve never heard him called a tough contender. Lol😂

What was the reason for Kovalev even rematching Pascal anyway?

Probably the biggest fight available at the time. At least from a financial standpoint, the Stevenson fight was all but dead by that point and Pascal always done good numbers in Canada.

It was pretty pointless rematch though after how dominant Kovalev was in the first fight. I remember one of the selling points was literally could Kovalev stop him quicker than last time.

If he got good money for it then yeah sure go for it. But yeah Kovalev made his statement the first fight. He doesn't get credit from me personally by having Pascal on his resume twice, when he already beat him badly in the first fight. It's why I also don't rate Hopkins defenses as much as others because he has rematches on there that weren't necessary at all. I could only imagine the backlash Golovkin would've received had he rematched a guy he not already beat, but stopped. At least Golovkin's defenses were all against different guys.
