Ortiz had been throwing his head around prior to that. That was just the most blatant and obvious one that the ref caught.

Ortiz is a weak-minded fighter. He quit against Maidana, Lopez and Berto II, though he did have a broken jaw versus Lopez so can't fault him there. Ortiz is a guy who seems to look for shortcuts when faced with adversity, his mental game and commitment isn't consistent. Not sure why he chose to headbutt Floyd except out of frustration, but he's always been a B-rate fighter at best and part of that is due to his lack of mental discipline.

Great shot that had Floyd coverup and go onto the ropes

Floyd was totally on the defensive, and Ortiz was able to throw anything he wanted.

Instead of taking full advantage of the opportunity this idiot launches a headbutt

What was Ortiz brilliant master plan?
Oritz is a basket case. Hes reminds me of boxings version of Aaron Hernandez.

Mental midget forsure. Ive also noticed from years of coaching, the most athletically gifted tend to break down the hardest when they are out gunned.

Prime Ortiz was fast and built like a machine, but when his speed and muscle couldnt win for him, he broke down. This happens a lot sports. Ive seen grown ass D league ballers pout and throw tantrums when they are getting balled up.

There was some build up before the fight that Floyd Mayweather was a "dirty fighter", seemed like Ortiz went into it with a chip on his shoulder like, "if you are going to be dirty, I will too." Than Mayweather just started schooling him and he took plan B way to literal.

It was turning into a really competitive fight 'Ortiz was doing very well'.

Ortiz could have gotten up when he got knocked down. That was his way out.
Yeah I think he decided to tap out the moment Floyd put him on his azz. Cheap shotting people is effective.

I was happy Floyd clapped Ortiz out in the middle of the ring.

Only skilled infighters like JLC & Maidana competitively dirty fight with Floyd.

Lotta respect between Floyd & Cotto so they both kept the fight very clean.

He did the same thing to Mosley when Mosley kept trying to over-apologize. Mosley wouldn't stop offering to touch gloves and Mayweather cracked him for not getting back in the figh.

At a certain point the fight is back on and the apologies are over. People act like Floyd was trying to hug him and then randomly sucker punched him. Floyd had his gloves up ready to fight and Ortiz wouldn't stop apologizing, so he got smacked for it.

Ortiz is just an idiot. Dude had it all to give Mayweather a tough fight except heart and discipline. Also Mayweather kept elbowing him lol
I remember leading up to the fight Mayweather invited garcia for lunch and im sure robert told him how mentally weak ortiz is.
