Comments Thread For: Spence's Trainer: Errol Earned A Lot Of Respect With Win Over Brook

Derrick James still doesn't feel Errol Spence Jr. gets enough credit for what he has accomplished as a professional prizefighter. Spence's trainer thinks, though, that Spence converted countless non-believers by traveling to Kell Brook's hometown and knocking him out to win the IBF welterweight title in May 2017. The Spence-Brook bout was competitive in the first eight rounds, before a persistent, strong Spence began beating up the former champion in the ninth round at Bramall Lane in Sheffield, England.

Not really. He was already damaged from the GGG fight. Plus he was giving Spence a good fight till the stoppage.

Spence looked amateurish in early rounds. Brook paid a price of GGG fight at the end.

Earned respect from the Brook win.... then lost it all by ducking Crawford, contradicting himself at every turn and earning the reputation of being a compulsive liar.

Just another overrated over hyped "Cash cow". ANOTHER JOKE FIGHTER

Derrick james is a smart trainer. Je always tells the truth and he knows what he's talking about when it comes to box. But Errol turned into Fred G. Sanford, drinking too much ripple. Once you hurt your body with alcohol, its tough to get it back. I wanna see Errol all the way back, but between the alcohol use and the car crash, it's hard to imagine him reaching or surpassing his former level. Even if the body comes back, what about the head, and the jaw? I'm sure he was knocked unconscious, and anyone he fights will target that mouth and that head and that jaw. Especially Bud.

He ain't wrong, coming to beat a champion in their own backyard is always worthy of respect. Brook was a damn fine fighter at that point although the damage sustained from the GGG fight and the weight bouncing makes things not quite as clear cut as they might have been.

Spence is the truth! That accident was the worst thing for everyone in the WW division.. Spence is a pure animal now! and on top of that This Corona has made Thurman, Mikey Garcia, Crawford and, Horn stronger! We should see a Spence vs Horn.. a Porter vs Crawford, and a Mikey Garcia vs Thurman!! Lets goooo!!! Or a Crawford vs Danny Garcia or mikey vs danny would be dope!
