It really depends. No good for title fights. But if it’s a couple of guys who want to fight for the fans and need to meet somewhere in the middle I’m all for it. Maybe a attraction type fight where both fighters are getting a nice payday and everyone knows they’re going to throw down.

Not in favor if it counts as a credit for the rankings. Canelo is a good example. He fought five fights over the limit. He should have had his ranking removed and be ranked the Middleweight class. Five fights in a row is excessive.

          I agree with this.
I think it's the whole A side catchweights that are kinda b.s.
Technically the A side can say he earned the right to dictate terms.
But if he's really confident of beating the B side no catch-weight should be needed.
          Any way ... Good question.

Yeah I agree. Nelo’s first 160 lb run was total bullchit. Fighting welters at 155 for the MIDDLEWEIGHT title. Smh.

Only time I’d ever be okay with them would be as a bridge between two champs from two weight classes (SWW champ vs MW champ at 157lbs)

That’s it. And ban hydration clauses.

How? How would he have EARNED it though? The hypothetical A side is just the guy who’s more popular. JCC would have been A side against any superior middleweight. Tank Davis could probably be A side in negotiations against Lomachenko and he wouldn’t win a round.

The a side/b side garbage is ruining the sport.

                  I didn't say I liked it.
But boxing is a business for these fighters , promoters etc.
Alot of people benefit from the A side winning.
Which is why they're given the preferential treatment.

Yes and no. It can give us some great matches with great fighters from different divisions but then we have seen catch weights be exploited so it gives a fighter an unfair advantage.
