Arum puts Lopez on blast

Not Honduran fans, no way in Hell. They reside in NY like Mexicans do in Illinois (World Football/soccer games attest to it) so Teofimo knows he could get homefield advantage w/ a crowd & swoon the judges in a close fight. Lopez would take Lomachenko out of his element like Vasyl failed to sellout MSG against Linares. Also didn't Salido bring more fans than Loma when they fought?Idk why Teo cares if there is a crowd or not. Strange environment obviously but he's still getting paid plus mfers would be watching from home anyway.
That said it was silly to even bring up that angle up or comment that it was a deal breaker for him cuz it's unlikely that any promoter or venue would wanna put on such a interesting fight without a crowd so he coulda just passed that buck onto the promoter/venue instead of making himself look bad.Last edited by EDDIE SPERM; 04-28-2020, 05:00 PM.Comment

I don't know why you're so sure any of that is true...it seems to me like Teo is kind of throwing stuff at the wall...kind of like when you don't want to go out and you start making excuses to your friends.
'It's too cold man...I don't have any money...I'm tired'...instead of just saying 'No I don't want to go out'
Teo is saying 'He is scared to fight in NY; it's about money; won't find in front of no crowd'
Seems like he just doesn't want the fight...and I would give him a solid puncher's chance vs Loma.Comment

That seems like a very random lie to make up. It's rare to see anybody pull something out of their ass which is that specific.I don't know why you're so sure any of that is true...it seems to me like Teo is kind of throwing stuff at the wall...kind of like when you don't want to go out and you start making excuses to your friends.

It’s their job be prize fighters who fight in front of fans. And this isn’t the amateurs.
First World Problems.
We can’t watch live boxing because boxers don’t want to fight without a crowd.
Man...you guys are something else.
You really think these guys, who are hungry for a payday, really want to leave money laying on the table like that for no good reason? They make money on a fight by fight basis. Of course they want to fight. But pro boxers are not going to fight under the conditions being requested by couch potatoes.Comment

I guess we just have to call it like we see it...when he said he didn't want to fight in front of no fans, I get it...still think he should but I can understand where he is coming from, to at least say that initially.
But now with Arum (who I agree - who can actually believe him, but still) coming out and saying this, idk makes me think Lopez is trying to back out...I thought the fight was already signed and sealed anyway.Comment

I’ve fought and been a trainer for the past 20 years Kev, some fighters drive themselves constantly, some you need to push every inch of the way, you obviously have taken your boxing knowledge from rocky movies, when you get in the ring you are fighting your opponent, if you need the crowd to get 10% more out of you then you’re not going in at 100%Exactly...
YOU don't see the issue. And that does not matter if you do not see the issue. You are not Teofimo Lopez, the fighter, you are a fan who does not care for the conditions of a venue. Because it will not be you fighting.
And the second bolded comment, who are you to say a boxer is lacking drive? You probably don't even have 1% of a clue of what drive it takes not only to be a non pro boxer, who just gets used as a sparring partner for chump change, but the drive it takes to be a pro boxer. To get up at 4AM to run and train, be away from your family for long periods at a time. A lot of you boxing fans with the crap you say, it seems like you lack brain.
Call him a C level fighter, say you don't think he has good skills, say he's not gonna make it far, make fun of his resume, predict that he will lose 120-108 vs Lomachenko. But to question a boxer's "drive". Just lol, you have no idea what it takes to be a boxer. A pro boxer's "drive" is about 1,000,000 % stronger than the average Joe.Comment

You’ve been fighting and training for the past 20 years and question a professional fighters drive?I’ve fought and been a trainer for the past 20 years Kev, some fighters drive themselves constantly, some you need to push every inch of the way, you obviously have taken your boxing knowledge from rocky movies, when you get in the ring you are fighting your opponent, if you need the crowd to get 10% more out of you then you’re not going in at 100%
It is obvious as hell that Lopez is far from lacking drive. He has so much of it, he can probably share it with the entire NYC, and still have 100% left. He’s gonna get his ass handed to him by Lomachenko, but he’s very energetic, charismatic, very into promoting himself, wants to fight the best even though it will mean an L and no more 0. The kid his drive. I’m not high on him by any means, but I respect that he is out there trying to be the best. A real shame on fans for questioning this kid’s intentions on why he doesn’t want to fight without a crowd. Boxing fans are so shameful. No other sports fans are out here telling baseball players, basketball players, football players, to go out and play without a crowd. Everyone knows how much that sucks. Dead crowds suck ass, and no crowd out at all would be absolutely terrible for a boxing match. Crowds literally dictate how pro boxers behave in the ring.Comment

I hope this fight gets made, I see Lopez pulling a huge upset and TKO’ing Lomochenko since I don’t see Lomochenko eating one of those Lopez right hands or Lomochenko gives Lopez a boxing lesson.
The way boxing goes Lopez will move up to 140 and win a vacant belt that arum will serve up to him. Lomochenko will stay at 135 and fight another Top Recycle fighter in a studio but paid for it.
This fight won’t happen everComment
