That said it was silly to even bring up that angle up or comment that it was a deal breaker for him cuz it's unlikely that any promoter or venue would wanna put on such a interesting fight without a crowd so he coulda just passed that buck onto the promoter/venue instead of making himself look bad.
He cares because he’s a showman.

A lot of pro boxers actually fight for the fans. When you are a pro fighter, you want to see other people seeing you. It’s not that hard to understand.

Why is this kid so eager to get whooped by Lomachenko? He wants the W and wants recognition from fans. That’s the only reason.

He wants to be watched, he likes crowds, he likes showboating. Lopez does everything basically for fans watching him.

If you think about it, it’s really not hard to see why he wants a crowd. Everything he does or says is centered around him believing that he is being watched by fans. He needs fans to watch him and he needs to see the fans.

You do not care as a fan, you’ll be at home watching. But he is the fighter, he is the one that cares about that, and it is him that will be affected by lack of crowd, not us.

That would suck all the energy out of it.
A lot of fans don’t understand this. They will be watching from their couch, not fighting. If a boxer doesn’t want to do something that has probably never been done before in modern pro boxing; which is, having a sanctioned professional fight scheduled for 12 rounds, with no crowd, you can’t blame him.

I wish more fans would think logically before pointing fingers and falsely accusing fighters of BS.

And I wholeheartedly think Lomachenkon is gonna whoop this kid. It won’t even be close. It’s going to be checkers vs chess, and Lomachenko is chess. But I don’t blame Lopez for not wanting to fight under these conditions. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and that is not a duck whatsoever. Not wanting to box in conditions you are not used to is not a duck. And in this case no crowd is an extremely different condition.

Lomachenko probably doesn’t care, but he’s a chess player. He likely prefers dead silence. Lopez feeds off of crowds.

I don’t see the issue with no crowd, both fighters will have the same conditions, if you need the crowd to drive you then you are lacking drive

So everyone should stop pointing fingers, you know damn well the pandemic got everything f/cked. It’s neither Lopez, Lomachenko or Arum’s doing. Everything is f/cked up.
When can we have crowds though? October 2020 or do we have to wait until 2022? At some point, if fans aren't allowed back in, you still have to resume playing sports.

Covid probably ended entire seasons. NBA, MLB, etc. players are saying they don't think there will be a season. That's overall billions of dollars lost via tickets and food/beverage services (inside the stadiums/arenas). Boxing is no different than other sports, they shouldn't try to be stubborn and have "crowd-less" fights. The fans are being very careless and stubborn right now.

Lol, fights with no crowds. Fans need to get a grip. I want to watch boxing so badly, I want the baseball season to start. But I understand if fighters don't want to fight without a crowd, or if team owners got together and say they can't start the season if fans can't attend.

              Exactly...

YOU don't see the issue. And that does not matter if you do not see the issue. You are not Teofimo Lopez, the fighter, you are a fan who does not care for the conditions of a venue. Because it will not be you fighting.

And the second bolded comment, who are you to say a boxer is lacking drive? You probably don't even have 1% of a clue of what drive it takes not only to be a non pro boxer, who just gets used as a sparring partner for chump change, but the drive it takes to be a pro boxer. To get up at 4AM to run and train, be away from your family for long periods at a time. A lot of you boxing fans with the crap you say, it seems like you lack brain.

Call him a C level fighter, say you don't think he has good skills, say he's not gonna make it far, make fun of his resume, predict that he will lose 120-108 vs Lomachenko. But to question a boxer's "drive". Just lol, you have no idea what it takes to be a boxer. A pro boxer's "drive" is about 1,000,000 % stronger than the average Joe.

Exactly! Arum has been sneak dissing Teo since his last win! He was already telling him “not to fawk anything up!” As if calling Loma out is gonna ruin anything. WTF? He’s allowed to be himself around the other guys he fought and beat but when it comes to Loma he has to be be careful to not ruffle any feathers. You can tell that Arum is protecting Loma like a child

See the pattern? Another great white champion making a top threat non white duck like a bi7ch.

Modern Great white fighters are the most avoided in history. We never get to see them at their very best.

Lopez is getting cold feet. He realizes what he got himself into and that there are easier paths to a title. Now he wants to make some lame excuse about no crowd no fight. He's a fraud.

Lopez was tight at the weight to begin with, if the delay stretches out a while longer. Will he even be able to make the weight?
