    He stopped him...

How’s that not a decisive victory?
He hit him with extremely low punches to the bottom of the athletic cup then laid on top of him as he hunched over to make it look like a stoppage.

It was widely met with disgust and controversy. Roc Nation has pretty blatantly rigged some undercard fights (including Perez-Hooker on the undercard of Kovalev-Ward I) and the the ref calling that a clean stoppage took it over the top.

"He landed a clean shot a little while before that!" isn't a valid argument because that's not in the rules.

If landing a clean shot then finishing with a barrage to the testicles was legal then Golota would have retired 1000-0.

Even if you think he won or prefer him, that isn't what "definitive" means.

The first fight -- despite being scored by the overwhelming majority of the media in Kovalev's favor, was still a more "definitive" win for Ward than the second fight, which was a complete farce and should have resulted in an investigation & lawsuit.

      “A lawsuit”😂😂

I’d take Kovalev over Ward any day. It doesn’t change the fact Ward decisively beat him in the rematch.

          There’s no bait.😂

Ward stopped Kovalev in the rematch. It’s a fact. It happened. You can’t change it.

I wanted Kovalev to win both fights and thought he edged the first fight but the REALITY is he lost. Just get over it man. It was 3 years ago.

              Check the record books.

Kovalev was done. His body language said it all.

Ward was a C level fighter with some weird connections backstage. Even before hooking up with dirty roc nation.

Event after event, he either he turned a certain DQ into a win via selectively blind referees, got saved by 1 magical scorecard via selectively blind judges, etc.

In "boxing matches" he always looked outgunned & desperate.

Always wondered why Ward's back had a little more acne marks than usual in the rematch.

It's a fight. Fighters prepare to win a war. Now you're claiming referees don't "do their job correctly"??
Sounds like you need to set up your own boxing league, hahaha!

Anyway, we agree to disagree. Ward was no dirtier than most fighters, but more successful at winning. I don't see disqualifications, citations, warnings, in his resume anymore than any other fighter. End of story.

I didnt say every referee doesn't do his job correctly. Some dont and I'm not sure how you can refute this. Them not penalising fighters for fouls, encourages the fighter to keep doing fouls.

You still havent brought up one argument why Ward is not dirtier than other fighters. There is no discussion from your side.

Ward constantly lunges in with his head, constantly clinches, attacks and grabs hard to keep his opponent from working, ties up his opponent whenever they get close to his range.
                      Thats not clean boxing.

I'm not saying that Ward would have lost, but the look of the fight would be much different if he wasnt allowed to constantly clinch his opponent.

                      Kessler inbetween rounds:
                      "He keeps holding me."

                      Kessler post-fight interview:
"It was unfair with the headbutt and the holding."
