Brook could have been an elite welterweight if he didn't move up two divisions to fight prime GGG. That was dumb.

Matthysse. they talked about him like he will dominate welterweight division when he moves up. But he beat nobody important at 147 and also lost against Garcia and Postol at 140.

Victor Ortiz was a golden boy hype job that put on fan friendly fights but ugly quit or got knocked out.

Brook biggest win was porter but is better known for chasing Khan for a payday that never happen and being a punching bag for GGG and Spence.

And Matthysse lost to a old Judah, but Knocked out Peterson who beat khan so you can say he was the best fighter at 140 at the time but it was at an catchweight so never won a title belt. Let’s be honest his highlight is a 2nd tier WBA belt.

So who was the bigger hype job?
I don’t think these guys were over hyped. Ortiz was a good fighter but maybe badly coached. He had the tools but he often wanted to go toe to toe. When you get hit in boxing you won’t last.

Brook does everything well but was poorly managed. He could have faired against most top fighters because he has a solid foundation and some power. Him losing to GGG was really a ****** decision. He had no business fighting GGG and that’s what killed his career. He was never the same, with Brooks blame his promoters who often found bums for him to fight but he was solid.

Matthysse was a good fighter too. Can’t fault him.

Matthysse is next. There was more than a little talk about him moving up to dominate welterweight, and a lot of people (myself included) thought he'd destroy Danny Garcia.

Brook wasn't overhyped. He was a good champion, he was considered such, there's nothing unfair there.
            I support this answer ^^^

Brook wasn't overhyped, he was a legit elite fighter before he moved up to fight GGG and got handled, that move ruined what could've been a great career, he had all the skill in the world

Matthyse vs Provodnikov is one of my fav fights.
Brook at least beat Porter. Ortiz beat no one of note and got ranked the 'number 2 best' by Wilder and by black america. He's a hypejob.
