p4p or a specific division or both?

p4p ATGs is still something I kind of struggle with.

Nonpareil Dempsey, Tommy Ryan, Kid McCoy, Jimmy Barry, Jack McAuliffe, so many of the colored champions like Butler, Barbados Walcott, Byers, Cocoa Kid, and Kid Norfolk never get discussed. You're kind of on your own as far as assessments for a lot of guys who have a p4p argument.

Usually you see a list of spread eras and the only get to rep the 1800s or early 1900 is Langford, sometimes Gans or Greb or all three. Those guys are great, but, so is Kid McCoy. In fact, without Kid there is no corkscrew. Everyone who uses his punch pays tribute by the use alone...including guys like Pac and Money.

So for me, I have a hard time. I think Floyd's the most talented boxer of all time. He can pretty much do whatever he wants and be successful, which is amazing. That said, I'm not sure Floyd stacks in h2hs against the old guys who had no problem fighting from 130-hw and doing well.

McCoy may not be as popular as Greb, who has a resume of... Tunney, once, but he did beat top guys in MW, LHW, and HW. His biggest set back is his throwing fights for bet money. With a resume of Maher, Ryan, Choyinski, Bonner, O'Donnell, Ruhlin, and Creedon McCoy has way more meaningful wins across way more weight divisions than Greb does. I'm not talking **** about Greb, I'm just saying McCoy should be remembered as a p4p great.

I'm not sure how Pac or Floyd handle a guy like McCoy. I'm pretty sure McCoy can walk through them like they're buttercups because if he can take Peter Maher's right hand he can take anything Pac or Money can throw. He has the stamina for a no scheduled end fight, he has the cleverness to be a pioneer of technique, and the skills to deliver wins when he needs them.

However, McCoy bet against himself when he fought Corbett and collected a ton of bet money. I have no doubt he'd lay down for either Pac-Man or Money May and just cash in.

I'm at a crossroads and don't know how to judge this man.

Both around the same. I’d guess at Top 20.

Have you ever even watched half of these fighter’s? Should mention Armstrong. Didn’t he hold 3 titles(back when it was only one title per division) in three divisions at the same time?
