To get Kovalov and Jacobs they had to offer them 2 fight deals making the same ammount.

Economic Inflation and brand growth is why you invest LOW early to make a deal since ideally it gets more expensive in later time. As OTT On Demand continues to grow with practicalities in streaming imo Canelo is being generous. It all evens out

long term contracts don't work out more often than not in sports. The athlete slows down, is no longer performing the way they used to, diva redencies take over, etc. Canelo needs a solid b side to draw large views and there aren't too many of those in and around his weight class. That's why dazn is desperate for the trilogy. There are already signs of that but the biggest sign that Canelo hasn't drawn to the extent they were hoping is that they played b***h to the ufc in Canelo's last fight. YOU mentioned MLB... as far as conditioning and stamina, I'd bet that a Premier League athlete PERFORMS significantly better in MOST sports than an MLB player...

Deadzone has no one to play but itself for paying WAY over market value for a collective product that does not yield a return. TBH it was a kinda baffling move from the start for DAZN, picking up a dude that close to the end of his career... same thing with Braekhus, but I guess most of the prime guys are already locked into contracts.

Honestly though I don't particularly care at this point in time - Golovkin's day is done really, I'd still expect him to give anyone in the division a tough fight, but his chances against Canelo are slim at this point. Whether he fights Canelo next or at the very end of his contract is unlikely to change the outcome IMO, so it more depends on whether Golovkin himself still believes he's got a shot at beating Canelo and on how much DAZN want to sweeten the pot I guess.

Right now I'd rather see GGG vs Andrade than the trilogy fight, or perhaps Jermall or a Derevyanchenko rematch.

Golovkin will never fight Devry again, won’t even mention him because ggg lost that fight....just like Canelo wanted no part of lara after their controversial fight. Just like Chavez never wanted to see Whitaker again.
It would see the easiest fight to make is ggg vs booboo as both are Matchroom but I just don’t get why Hearn is unable or unwilling to make any fights in house. Actually I do get it and would be happy to explain but that would just make the die hards kick off....
