Teofimo is very bravado.
Knocking Loma out in front of a sold out audience is probably one of the biggest motivating factors for the fight. Plus, without a crowd and doing the fight under these circumstances, he probably feels he would get shorted on his pay.

He will get a lot more shorted on the pay if another top lightweight steps up and takes his payday by taking the fight and says "I'll fight Loma without a crowd". If Arum turns out to be determined to hold the fight without a crowd and Lopez declines, Arum will turn cold on Lopez and offer the fight to someone who will accept the fight anywhere. Lopez will then have to wait for a long time, meanwhile making no money now because of Covid and no money later if Loma fights another fighter who is willing to accept the fight without the big audience. Now that's what I call shorting yourself out of money. At that point Lopez should just shoot himself in the foot with his own gun to top it off.

No, actually, you are WAY off. Lopez is NO Mayweather or Canelo! He is not even the A side, let alone a superstar A side. He is the B side and if he does not fight at a location without the crowd, he may miss the opportunity altogether. Furthermore, there is no way he will be fighting Lom next year because he has been seriously struggling with weight and will not be able to stay at 135 till next year and Lom is not going up to 140. Unless arenas open up to crowds in the next few months, if he holds firm on not fighting without a crowd, the Lom fight will never happen, and as I already stated, he will be shorting his paycheck by the entire amount of a Lom fight. And Arum will have something to say about that. It is what it is.

I’ve been talking crap about Lopez, and I think Lomachenko whoops him 120-108, but I have to side with him here. It would be weird to fight with no fans. This guy craves attention, it would probably be weird for him not doing any in ring antics or dancing for the crowd. He seems to be a showman who feeds off of fans. He’s been wildly calling for this fight so I don’t see how this is ducking.
