I’m predicting he will have won 4 more fights that could have gone either way. Funny, that. “Either way” suggests a 50/50 chance that the coin lands favourably. So having, let’s say, 8 of those type of fights going your way in a row is 256 to 1. He is a true legend if he overcomes those odds. Or is he?

Nah, most professional judges make a distinction between power punches vs arm punches and jabs, along with taking body punching into account. Canelo commits when he lets his hands go and gets full extension on his shots to a greater degree than just about any fighter, because he has confidence in his accuracy along with defense. Conversely his opponents tend to give uncharacteristically reined in performances due to his slippery upper body movement and hard counters. Hands down one of the most efficient boxers in the game.I’m predicting he will have won 4 more fights that could have gone either way. Canelo`s resume is not deep.
His best wins are old Cotto, old Mosley, old Kovalev, Jacobs, GGG
And he should have lost against Lara.
Not very impressed.
Give him some fighters in their primes to find out how good he really is.Comment

So judges are infallible and Canelo has never been involved in a questionable decision. Thank you for showing me the way.Nah, most professional judges make a distinction between power punches vs arm punches and jabs, along with taking body punching into account. I would advise Canelo to think about going out on top! He's made so much money, he doesn't need to fight anymore. I just don't want to see him do what GGG or Kovalev are doing! Once you're getting hit hard, and getting hit often, it should be time to call it quits!Comment

by that time alvarez's body will be so damaged by a lifetime dependent on PEDS he'll probably be using a 4 legged walker full timeComment

Typical British fan hating on Canelo and citing ''old'' when Fury wouldn't be anywhere had he not fought the ''old'' Wlad.
Fury parades calling Wilder a BUM, whereas Canelo said GGG was a dangerous and best challenge at Middleweight. You can't make this stuff up.Comment

Nah. Canelo has never performed like Pacquiao moving up in weights. Ideally you're supposed to be slower like Canelo. Pacquiao somehow defied stamina issues nor has Canelo performed like boxers from the 80s and 90s..Comment

Dude they definitely mentioned his age in the articleI would have liked to see the age of Canelo in the article. Of course I could google it, but I feel in an article about the retirement age of a boxer there should be the current age so one gets the estimate of how many years are left.
Edit: I googled - he is 29, so roughly 6-7 years left if everything goes according to plan.

This is a pretty accurate description. I’ll add that Canelo has a great punch selection. His punches are very eye catching and are pleasing to the eye. The way he turns with his punches and his overall style, is very judge friendly.Nah, most professional judges make a distinction between power punches vs arm punches and jabs, along with taking body punching into account. Jacobs was a quality win. I would argue that taking Trouts 0 was quality. GGG was by far his best though and considered his career defining win and beating his “rival.”
But we all know how the story goes. Once a boxer reaches a certain level of stardom, he’ll get more showcase fights than he does being matched harder.Comment
