The shots which he is able to ride now will be hitting him flush.
I do think the opposite, Fighters who rely on their athleticism and physique are the ones who always start to decline first because their boxing is all about movement and flashyness, while fighters who can fight with the less movement but on an efficient way tend to fight great at older ages.

Mayweather and Toney come to my mind first, Floyd stopped moving that much when he got to a certain age he relied more on his upper body movement and his IQ, the 135 Floyd who stopped Corrales doesn't fight anything like the 147 Floyd who fought for example Robert Guerrero.

Toney didn't had to move a lot to brutalize hsi opponents it took a young athletic freak of nature in Roy Jones to beat his style.

GGG was and is a fighter who always has relied on his physique his style is not aging well, Hopkins is all about efficient movement, defense and IQ that why he still was a top fighter at his almost 50 years old.

Martinez suffered and injury on his knee and he was done. Look at the lighter BJS who fought Lemieux and look at the bigger BJS who fought Coceres.

Look at the Roy Jones who played with Toney and the Roy Jones who lost to Calzaghe.

Canelo's style is gonna age sweet, his style is about efficiency only thing that would make him a shot fighter would be his relfexes deteriorating.

Erislandy Lara - Arguably the best 154 of the world, got robbed of his undefeated record vs Willilams
Kirkland - Came in from a 5 winning KO streak
Cotto - 160 MW Champ - Came from a 3 winning KO streak
Smith - 154 WBO undefeated champ
GGG - 160 WBC, WBA, IFF undefeated champion
Fielding - 168 WBA regular champ
      Jacobs - 160 IBF champ
      Kovalev - 175 WBO champ

Mosley was old as hell still Alvarez was 22 when he faced him
Dont forget Cotto brother was a extremely dangerous fight for a 19yr old Canelo.
